Description of the walk

You can set off from the town by heading towards the street called Pujada de la Primavera, or drive up to the car park (Glamping Lodge Estartit) located above the campsite after two bends.

(S/E) Follow the road uphill to a long clearing in the woods.

(1) Turn right: white and green markings, local footpath. At the T-junction, turn left for about twenty metres.

(2) Turn right and head up the path towards Cala Pedrosa, a wide track through the pine trees and rocks.

(3) Continue to the left, following a series of gentle ascents and descents along this path until you reach the small cove of Pedrosa.

(4) Take a moment to rest here, or even go for a swim. To continue, climb up the other side of the cove and look out for the path marked with white and green markings on the trees. The climb isn’t very long before you reach a spot offering some lovely views.

(5) Turn right, still heading towards Cala Ferriol. The path is very rocky and the descent is quite steep.

(6) Make the most of this cove to have a swim and recharge your batteries. For the return journey, head towards the far end of the cove (towards the forest), where you’ll find a tree with white and green markings. Continue along the path for a while until you reach a junction (signposted).

(7) Turn left, following the sign for “Dunes and Torroella de Montgri”: white and red markings for the GR®92.

(8) Carry on straight ahead, following the GR® signposts, still heading towards the Dunes and Torroella de Montgri.

(9) Leave the GR®, which branches off to the right, and go straight on to rejoin the local path marked in white and blue. At the junction, turn left to continue along the local path and return to a junction you passed on the way out.

(2) Turn right and, a little further on, you’ll come out at Pujada de la Primavera.

(1) Head down to the left towards the car park (S/E).

Notes

For this hike, it is advisable to wear good walking shoes and use walking poles. That doesn’t mean you can’t bring your swimming costume to take a dip in the calanques.
Also make sure you bring sun cream and a cap, and plenty of water as there are no water sources along the route.

Worth a visit

You’ll love the calanques with their crystal-clear waters and stunning scenery.
The forests are very beautiful and the paths are very pleasant, apart from the ascents and descents where caution is still advised.

Always be cautious and plan ahead when you're outdoors. Visorando and the author of this route cannot be held responsible for any accidents occurring on this route.

A lovely walk featuring two quiet calanques (the first with a few people sunbathing or in the water, the second completely deserted).
Three steep climbs (if you start from the signposted starting point): one right at the start (which you can avoid if you park a little higher up), and the other two to climb back up from the calanques.
Two steep descents to reach the calanques
Well signposted, beautiful scenery
Took 3 hours to walk at a steady pace, without rushing, in sunny weather with a strong tramontane wind.

Very busy on certain days. Weekends, long weekends, etc.
Please note that it’s best to drive further up to the junction of the out-and-back routes.
Alternatively, after the park sign, there’s a blue/green-marked path – marked with a cross and starting on the right after a small dirt car park – which allows you to avoid the tarmac almost all the way to the junction of the paths mentioned above.
The starting point for the walk suggested by the guidebook I used is actually a private car park, perhaps belonging to the campsite opposite.
Please note: the terrain is very, very stony.

A lovely route with two beautiful calanques to explore. It’s a bit of a burn on the thighs, but nothing too bad.
