Panossière Hut - Chanrion Hut

(S) About 300 m after leaving the Panossière Hut, take the steeply ascending path and reach the Col des Otanes. This climb can be tricky in snowy weather, as was the case on the day of this description.

(1) Continue north-northeast on relatively flat ground, then descend carefully down a steep path with a few ladders. You will reach La Tseumette.

(2) Continue on a more passable path, cross the Dyure de Pazagnou and, a hundred metres further on, you will find a crossroads.

(3) Keep left, then climb uphill to reach the village of Mauvoisin.

(4) Continue uphill to the right, then follow the road to the Mauvoisin Dam.

(5) Walk along the top of the dam.

(6) On the other side, turn right and walk along the lake on your right. Further on, take a steep path on the left equipped with ladders to the Écuries du Giétro.

(7) Take the Val de Bagnes balcony trail here. Cross the mountain pastures among large herds of Herens cows, most of which are very calm, and arrive at the Tsofeiret cirque.

(8) Continue on, passing above Lac du Tsofeiret, then reach Col de Tsofeiret.

(9) Begin the descent and finish at the Chanrion SAC hut (E), today's stop.
