Park in one of the car parks at the Payolle tourist resort between the motorhome area and the first chalets.
(S/E) Walk along the left side of the lake and cross the concrete footbridge. Continue along the lake until the path splits and after the tree houses on the left.
(1) Take the small path on the left that climbs steeply. You will reach the Chemin de Artigous crossroads.
(2) Take the path that veers slightly to the right and descends, then climbs again as it approaches the road. Continue on to reach Clot des Artigous.
(3) Turn left. Be careful not to miss the turn. The path continues to climb. Then continue straight ahead, changing direction at a hairpin bend. You will reach the Sarraoute stream.
(4) Cross it and continue through the forest. Pass another stream and then walk alongside the Fontaine de la Basse.
(5) Cross the Adour de Payolle near its source. Stay on the path and, following an almost flat route, you will reach a crossroads.
(6) Take the path that branches off to the right and leads slightly above the Col d'Aspin.
(7) Turn left onto the path just before the road. Begin a steep descent. After the hairpin bends, you will reach a wide track.
(8) Turn left onto it and follow it downhill until you return to the starting car park (S/E).
