Park at the Quatre Chemins car park in the village of Revel. It is also possible to park at the Pré Raymond car park to shorten the route slightly. However, be aware that the road is very poor and narrow: it is recommended to park further down, as it is difficult to manoeuvre when it is busy.
(S/E) Head to the Pré Raymond car park by following the access track.
(1) Head towards the back of the car park and follow the path on the right, heading south towards Lac du Crozet.
(2) Leave a path on your right, which you will take on the way back to return to the car park. Continue straight ahead.
(3) At the fork, stay on the main path, turning right towards Lac du Crozet. This climb is not particularly difficult. However, be aware of the season, as the area may be snowy in spring and autumn. You will arrive at Lac du Crozet after passing the hydroelectric dam.
(4) At the intersection, climb to the left towards the Refuge du Pré du Molard and the Glacier de la Sitre. The path overlooks Lac du Loup.
(5) Near Col du Loup, continue along the path, keeping to the right, towards Lac de Grande Sitre. Continue climbing to pass the pass, then descend along Glacier de la Sitre.
(6) At the Col de la Sitre, turn left towards Lac de la Grande Sitre.
(7) At Lac de la Grande Sitre, follow the stream upstream and take the path on the right to climb behind Habert de la Sitre. (It is also possible to take the same path as on the way up to climb the ridge above the lake.)
(8) At Mont Saint-Mury, take the path on the left towards the Refuge du Pré du Molard.
(9) At the fork, take the path on the left, still heading towards the Refuge du Pré du Molard, then continue along the path to the refuge.
(10) Cross the refuge site and head towards the forest to descend towards the Col du Pré du Molard (near the Clos car park).
(11) Turn left at the pass and head towards the Pré Raymond car park.
(12) At the fork, continue straight ahead towards the Pré Raymond car park.
(13) At the fork, continue straight ahead towards the 4 Chemins car park and return to the fork you passed on the way there.
(3) Continue straight ahead until you reach a path on the left, which you saw on the way there.
(2) Here, we suggest taking a shortcut via a path on the left to rejoin the track you took at the start. Please note that, depending on the season, the maintenance of this path may vary, and the grass may therefore be a little high. Once back on the track, follow it to the left to return to the car park (S/E).
