Circular forest loop between the Col de Quillane and La Llagonne

This hike, mostly through forest, will introduce you to a wild, mountainous landscape. You will enjoy this shaded hike in summer and winter on snowshoes, following part of the Voie Blanche (groomed and free).

The elevation gain is low and the trails are wide enough to enjoy the scenery in complete tranquillity.

You can take shortcuts to give your legs a rest at point (3) or point (10).

Description of the walk

The walk starts from the Maison du Capcir car park at the Col de la Quillane.

(S/E) Take the white track for 300 m.

(1) Turn right, following the snowshoe trail markings.

(2) Turn right and follow the white trail markings.

(3) Cross the D32 and join the track opposite, slightly to your left.

(4) Follow the yellowPR® markings to head towards Rec d'en Calbet (a small lake).

(5) Go around the lake, following the wooden walkways. Then follow the signs towards Jaça de Bernardi for a good kilometre.

(6) Leave the DFCI track and turn left for about 1.5 km until you reach a left-hand bend.

(7) At this bend, turn left. Continue straight ahead and, after a series of bends, take advantage of the picnic table to take a break.

(8) Follow the track to the D32 road.

(9) Cross it and take the path opposite that runs alongside the road. Turn left to take the shortcut, then continue on the D32a for about 500 metres.

(10) Then turn right onto the path that descends between the two fields. Next, follow the path on the right that continues along a tarmac road.

(11) Bear slightly left and continue along the gently sloping path to reach the D32 at the end of the route.

(12) Then cross the D118 and take the path opposite on the left, which climbs for about 400 metres.

(13) Turn right onto the path between the fields, which climbs towards Serrat de les Forques. Then descend towards the Rialet farm opposite.

(14) Cross the D118 and head towards the centre of the village of La Llagonne. Follow the yellowPR® markings to enjoy the esplanade of the chapel and the ruined tower at the rear.

(15) Head back up towards the village exit until you reach the industrial building.

(16) Leave it on your right and continue along the path.

(17) Cross the ski slopes of the Quillane resort. Continue straight ahead on the path that takes you back to the Maison du Capcir car park (S/E).

The perfect length for a good workout in a forest environment rich in beautiful colours: purple brunella, yellow ragwort with adonis leaves, carpets of winged broom and pink delta carnations, numerous large yellow gentians, a few white Montpellier carnations...
No problems tracking on GPX.

A superb walk, mostly through the forest with a gentle incline, but also through pastures. Discover the abundant flora in this season. Picnic by the Calvet pond. Not to be missed!
