Your route starts at La Llagonne Town Hall.
(S) With your back to the town hall, go up to the left along the Promenade du Pré de la Ville. Leave the Impasse du Lavoir on your right and take a secondary road that goes uphill (Cami Réal) on your right.
Pass Les Sorbiers and you will arrive at the "Montagne/Transport" company.
(1) Turn left just before the two buildings.
You are now on Chemin Vauban and, at the same time, on a "Pla" which you will need to follow until you reach the Maison Capcir-Haut Conflent car park. In the meantime, you will pass the beautiful little family ski resort of La Quillane.
(2) At the car park, continue along Chemin Vauban, which enters the forest, and follow the marked path. Even though there are no signposts, it is easy to find your way along this path. You can also follow the cycle path markings.
Look out for a cross on a tree opposite you on your left when you come to a small junction on the right. Turn right and leave the cycle path, which continues straight ahead.
Continue along this path, still in the forest, and descend opposite. Leave the path that climbs to the left. After this descent, you will come to the road where you will see the Chemin Vauban sign.
(3) At the intersection, take the road on the right, cross the D32 and continue straight ahead. Stay on this small road, which curves and crosses the D32 again.
Once again, follow the cycle path markings straight ahead to the "Pla des Postes" track junction.
(4) Take the track on the left which climbs slightly, then leave it to take a path on the right which rejoins the track just before Col del Mel.
(5) Cross the D32 to continue straight ahead, ignoring all the paths on the left, and arrive at Font de la Vernada. You will then have just over a kilometre to go to reach La Llagonne.
Continue and find Cami d'en Tartès, turn right at the first crossroads to reach Promenade du Cambre d'Aze. Continue to the left and you will arrive at the Town Hall.
Take the opportunity to visit the church and the ruined tower, which was once connected by optical signals to the towers of Fetges, La Quillane (both of which have disappeared) and Ovenca.
However, please note that this hike is not recommended in winter as it crosses the ski slopes of La Quillane resort! This is a very dangerous route due to the risk of collisions with skiers!
a pleasant family hike, part of which is in the forest
