Circular Eastern of Dol-de-Bretagne via Champ Dolent

Park at the Manoir des Beauvais car park.

(S/E) Head towards the roundabout, then take the first exit on the right, Rue des Beauvais. At the stop sign at the end of the street, turn right again.

(1) Take the first road on the left at the entrance to the Domaine du Grand Beauvais housing estate. Join Rue Teze Herber and follow it straight ahead until you reach the crossroads. Turn left, join Rue Éléonore Daubrée and turn left again.

(2) Turn left between the houses, onto Rue Charles Robert, and follow this street until you reach the crossroads.

(3) Take the lane to the stadium and turn left onto the path to go around it. Walk along the boules courts before entering the Colombier housing estate via Rue de la Belle Étoile. At the crossroads, turn right to find the pedestrian crossing, cross and go up on the left to Chemin de la Belle Étoile.

(4) Turn right to follow this street, passing in front of the École Notre-Dame and the Salle des Familles. Continue straight ahead, leaving Rue des Rolandières on your left and continuing under the road bridge. The road winds a little until you reach a place called Belle Étoile.

(5) Leave the path on your right and continue along the road until you reach the Lairgué crossroads.

(6) Keep to the right on the road, which turns right further on and runs alongside the railway line. At the level crossing, continue straight ahead. Pass Villouët and the bridge over the Guyoult. Continue straight ahead for 500 m until you reach the Grand Pont Gérouard crossroads.

(7) Turn right, leaving the Aubanière farm on your left. Cross the Tertre Bintin stream and you will come out onto the D4.

(8) Turn right towards the roundabout, go around it on the left and follow Route du Menhir. Pass the property, then turn left. Continue for about 200 m and turn right to see the Menhir de Champ Dolent.

(9) Turn back to the road and continue downhill to the right towards the houses. Pass the first intersection and continue to the road.

(10) Turn right towards Dol-de-Bretagne and walk for about 300 metres.

(11) Take the path on the left, which may be hidden by vegetation. You will come to the Impasse du Pont Baudry. Turn right to join the road, then follow it downhill to the left. Pass the cemetery.

(12) Turn right into the housing estate and follow the road. When you reach the small car park, take the path on the right that leads down to the fountain, then continue to the bridge over the Guyoult on the right. Ignore the bridge and turn left to walk between the houses via Chemin du Picoiseau.

(13) Cross the road and walk along the car park. Climb up to a railway bridge, pass underneath it, taking care to avoid traffic, and take the first path downhill, to the right of a beautiful wayside cross.

(14) At the crossroads, take the path on the right and continue left towards a car park. Follow the fitness trail until you reach the pond.

(15) Take the path immediately to the left before the uneven bars of the fitness trail. Descend towards the pond and cross the wooden bridge. Continue along the path, turn right and walk towards the bridge.

(16) Just before the bridge, turn left and continue to another bridge. Cross it to reach a road (Rue des Jardins de l'Abbaye), which you should take to the right for about 100 metres. Then turn right and continue to the first crossroads, where you should take the sloping road on the left, called Rue du Pendant des Vallées. At the roundabout, take the street on the left, leaving the station on your right, and continue to Square de la Résistance.

(17) Turn right onto Rue de Rennes (D795), go around the roundabout on the left to return to the Manoir des Beauvais car park (S/E).
