No signposts
(S) Go up Rue Moreau, keeping Rue aux Chevreuils on your right.
(1) At the fork, take Rue de la Muette on the right. Continue along the tarmac road, which quickly turns into a dirt track. In the left-hand bend that follows, you can admire the view of the Mauldre valley and the town of Beynes before starting a gentle descent.
(2) At the right-hand bend, take the path protected by a forest barrier (no horse riding sign). Ignore the path that branches off to the right and continue straight ahead, climbing slightly before arriving at a slight incline that leads to a paved road. Follow this road to the right (west) until you reach the Grande Table crossroads.

(3) Take the Chemin des Mares (3rd on the left) and follow theGR®11. Pass a first gas storage platform that quickly appears on your right, followed by a second one on your left. At the next crossroads, continue along the tarmac road that branches off to the right. Then start descending until you reach a metal forest barrier at the junction with the C3 municipal road.
(4) Cross the municipal road (watch out for traffic!) and then go up the grassy path opposite (sign CT069). At the top of the hill, pass the gas installation on your right and take the path that branches off to the right. Back on a tarmac road, turn left to reach the Petite Table crossroads.
(5) Cross the crossroads and continue west on Route d'Auteuil to the left of the sign marked VA150. Continue straight ahead until you reach another gas installation on your right. Continue west between forest plots no. 9 on your right and no. 11 on your left.
No signposts
(6) At a junction with a path crossing perpendicularly (white GDF post), leave theGR®11and take a path on the left, entering forest plot no. 11 (signposted "piste cavalière"). Then go through a forest gate and continue straight ahead with a field on your right and a forest edge that will then give way to a field on your left. Go under a high-voltage line and then cross the Route de Versailles (D11: watch out for traffic!). Enter Saulx-Marchais via Rue de l'Église.
(7) Pass the church of Saulx-Marchais and its cemetery set back from the road to reach a crossroads with the village hall. Turn left into Rue de la Mairie, pass the town hall and then the school. Then turn right into Chemin des Sablons. Continue straight ahead until the asphalt gives way to a dirt track between fields and meadows.
(8) At the bottom of the slight descent, turn left (south-east) onto Rue de la Treille until you reach the entrance to the hamlet of Basse Pissote. Continue straight ahead on Chemin de Paris (a dirt track that will take you away from the houses and continue between the fields.
Shortly after a yellow GRDF sign in the shape of a house roof (underground gas pipe), you will come to a three-way junction (elevation 93). Continue left on the path between the fields and go straight ahead until you reach the Route de Versailles (D11).
(9) Cross the Route de Versailles (watch out for traffic!) and continue between the fields. Ignore the junction with another path and continue straight ahead until you reach the houses in Cressay. Pass a house decorated with painted tiles and continue to Place des Tilleuls. Then leave the square via Rue de Beynes on the left (dead end).

(10) Join theGR®11and continue straight ahead until you reach a farm. Cross the farm, continuing straight ahead, then follow the path with horse paddocks on your right and the edge of the forest on your left.
(11) After passing another gas plant on your left, enter the undergrowth via the path that branches off to the left (north-west). Follow the path, which then begins a fairly steep climb. After a right-hand bend, you will come to a forest gate.
Green and yellow markings
(12) Cross the paved road, leave theGR® and take a path that branches off to the right. Continue straight ahead until you reach a forest gate that opens onto a paved road. Take this quiet road to the left (north-northeast) to return to the fork you took at the start of the hike.
(1) Continue straight ahead on Rue Moreau until you reach the starting point (S/E).

The forest is beautiful at this time of year, and will no doubt be even more so in the coming weeks, as it was still quite green on 11 November, but I saw some posters about anti-hunting activities
