Park in the car park at Les Toilles.
(S/E) From the car park, head south, then take a good path on the left that zigzags up the slope and passes under a power line.
(1) At the crossroads, turn left at an acute angle to follow theGRP® Tour du Pays du Mont Blanc (yellow and red markings). Follow this path which passes under the Plancert ski lift.
(2) Leave theGRP® and head right towards Les Combettes, then the Chalet des Anglais. Continue, leaving a path on your right, pass under the Chamois ski lift to reach the Hôtel-Refuge du Prarion.
(3) At the Hôtel-Refuge du Prarion, which offers a particularly beautiful view of the Aiguille du Goûter and the entire Chamonix valley, take the path heading north just above the arrival point of the Prarion cable car. The path winds along the ridge through the undergrowth with beautiful views. Continue climbing.
(4) The arrival at Prarion in a landscape without vegetation is superb. The path continues north on the ridge and descends with a few steep passages and some cables to hold on to. The view down into the valley is breathtaking. From an altitude of 1,700 metres, you enter the forest and arrive at the Col de la Forclaz.
(5) At the pass, turn left and then quickly right, heading south-west, to descend towards the village of Montfort. Pass the Pontet bridge and, at the next junction, turn right towards the hamlet of Montfort.
(6) Turn left to follow the road downhill, continuing along the hillside until you reach the Toilles car park (S/E).
