Park in the Crozat car park above the hamlet of Bionnassay.
(S/E) At the car park exit, turn left and walk for about 100 metres. At the three-way junction, go straight ahead and then take a road on the left lined with a few houses. Continue along a path on the right which descends to a wider track. Take this track on the left to the Pont des Places bridge which crosses the Torrent de Bionnassay. This section is easy.
(1) Continue straight ahead. At the intersection after the bridge, turn left. Shortly afterwards, the path narrows and becomes steep. After a fairly steep climb through the forest, you will reach the terminal tongue of the Bionnassay glacier.
(2) Leave the path that branches off to the left towards the footbridge, which is closed at this time of year (the wooden planks are removed after the summer), and continue climbing in a south-westerly direction.
(3) Pass by the Tricot chalets and Combe des Juments and climb towards Col de Tricot. The climb is gradual with magnificent views of the Bionnassay glacier, Aiguille du Goûter and the Goûter refuge.
(4) When you reach Col de Tricot, you will see the Miage chalets. From the pass, take the path on the right that leads to Mont Vorassay after a 200m steep climb on grassy terrain.
(5) Mont de Vorassay. Descend via the same route to the intersection with the path leading to the glacier footbridge.
(2) Turn right and walk for about 50 metres. As this footbridge is closed after the summer, turn right onto a path that runs alongside the stream in the moraine and climb up to the lake at the foot of the Bionnassay glacier.
(6) Cross the stream. Head north, walking over moraines for 5 minutes to reach the path coming from the footbridge.
(7) Turn right. After a steep climb towards the south-east, pass through some undergrowth and then a meadow to reach a crossroads.
(8) Turn left heading north-west, leaving the path on the right that leads to Nid d'Aigle. Shortly afterwards, at the three-way junction, take the left path, Chemin de l'Are, and continue downhill along a very pleasant path through the forest.
(9) Cross Le Planet, then La Chapiot and head straight to the Crozat car park (S/E).
