Go to the village of Brossainc and park in the car park by the church or the town hall.
(S/E) Leave the church, going around it on the left, then immediately behind it, take Rue du Puits on the right, going uphill. Continue straight on Chemin de la Croix de Barnabé, ignoring Rue de la Chapelle, which branches off to the right. These paths are marked in yellow and white
You will come to a right-angled crossroads. Continue straight ahead, following the yellow and white markings, uphill until you reach a tarmac road, then follow it to the left. Here you will join theGRP® du Bassin d'Annonay, marked in yellow and red. Follow it until you reach the Croix du Jean.
(1) Leave the tarmac road and take the dirt track that continues along it, ignoring the one on the right.
Follow this path, continuing straight ahead along the yellow and red markings and ignoring those that branch off to the sides. When you reach a fork, continue straight ahead to reach the Col du Fayet further on.
(2) Head towards Boulieu les Annonay as indicated on the road sign, then a few metres after this sign, take the dirt track immediately on the right. Leave the yellow and red markings here.
Continue in a south-westerly direction to reach the junction with the D109.
(3) Turn left for 50 metres and then turn south at a 90° angle to the left onto the wide dirt track. Join the Gardache stream.
(4) Walk along its right bank, moving away slightly before rejoining it after turning left. Cross it, turn right and cross it again to reach the hamlet of Les Traverses.
(5) Take the right-hand hairpin bend, following the path northwards to rejoin a road. Take it to the left for a few metres, then quickly leave it to the right to take the ridge path. You will reach a crossroads of paths in the clearing at the edge of the woods.
(6) Head almost north into the woods, continue on and you will reach another fork.
(7) Take the path on the left downhill.
Be careful here: avoid the temptation to head towards the lake via the paths that branch off, navigating by sight towards the lake, which appears to be very close. These paths are dead ends.
Descend towards the road and take the right-hand uphill path towards the dam.
Be careful: this road is busy. In particular, large lorries carrying stones come and go in the direction of the Saint-Julien-Molin-Molette quarry. Walk past the Maison du Garde, which will be on your right. Reach the end of Lake Ternay.
(8) Cross the dam and walk around the lake on the small tarmac road. Cross the small bridge over the main river that feeds the lake. A few metres further on, you will come to a dirt track.
(9) Turn left onto it, then take a few steps along the D306 road on the left. Leave it on the right and take the uphill path, where a hiking sign points towards Éteize. You will then come to the RD109, where there is a cross at the crossroads.
(10) Take the Route de Saint-Julien almost opposite. You will reach Éteize. Here, you will rejoin theGRP® du Bassin d'Annonay, marked in yellow and red.
(11) Cross this small village, turning left onto Rue des Moissons uphill. Continue across the village, turning left again and following the path, keeping left once more at Montée du Planet.
Stay on the path, continuing straight ahead until you reach a crossroads with a cross and a hiking signpost.
(12) At the cross, turn right towards Brossainc, still following the GRP®. About 150 m after the cross, turn left, leaving the wide path for a narrower path that descends. Follow this shaded path straight ahead.
(13) When you reach a crossroads and the first houses of the hamlet of Le Revoux, continue straight ahead (Chemin de St Julen).
At the next crossroads with Rue du Minerai, continue straight ahead.
Continue straight ahead to the end of Chemin de la Madone and turn left onto Rue du Centre, then Rue des Écoles to cross Brossainc, until you reach the church car park (S/E).
