(S/E) Departure from the central square of the village of Maclas near the town hall.
Head south and turn left at the fork to follow the Route de Chezenas, which runs alongside the school below on the left.
(1) At the next crossroads, turn left towards the Cures district. Ignore a path leading off to the left. At the next crossroads, you will arrive at a place called "Chez L'Hôte" where you must turn right at a right angle towards the nursery buildings. Leave the farm on your right, take a slightly leftward grassy path marked in yellow/white and, after a sharp right-hand bend, you will reach a track.
(2) Turn left at the hairpin bend to follow the path that alternates between the left and right banks of the stream. Ignore all paths on the right or left and walk along a lagooning basin on the left.
(3) 500 metres further on, before the path crosses a bridge, turn right at a right angle to follow the ascending path. Cross a group of buildings and then immediately turn sharply right onto a road. Follow the road and cross the hamlet of La Brunarie Haute.
(4) At the exit of the hamlet, follow the path uphill opposite, ignoring the road. Continue straight ahead on the stony path, which then becomes grassy. In the middle of the climb, it curves slightly to the right and joins a cross path.
(5) Follow it to the right. After 100 metres, continue on the path to the left, ignoring another path opposite to the right. At elevation 392, at the next junction, turn left at a right angle. Cross a road and continue along the road that extends from the path to reach a junction.
(6) Take the path opposite slightly to the right. Reach a cross path and follow it to the right. Without any ambiguity, follow this path, ignoring the paths to the right and left. Reach a farm and a water reservoir on the left.
(7) Follow the road as it curves upwards to the right. After 100 metres, take the path on the left and pass a house below on the left, then another higher up on the right. Join a road and first turn right then left to climb towards the hamlet of Éperdussin.
(8) At the hamlet, facing three roads, take the one furthest to the right. Ignore a road coming from the right and, 20 metres further on, take a path on the right that leads to the house of Monqueur and turns into a road. Follow this road until the next star-shaped crossroads.
(9) Ignore all roads and take the grassy path on the left. Cross the first road to reach the main road D19. Cross (with caution), go to the left and join the wide, grassy right-hand side. After 20 metres, turn right onto a section of the old road with a bridge.
Reach a road and follow it to the right. At elevation 403, continue straight ahead on the path, ignoring the road that continues to the right. Ignore two paths coming from the left and continue towards the hamlet of Choron. Cross the hamlet and, before the last houses, turn right onto an uphill road.
(10) Leave the road that turns left to turn right at a 90° angle and follow the path. Continue along this path, which runs alongside the industrial buildings on the right.
(11) At the fork just before the motocross area, turn right to go around and follow it. When you reach a road near an industrial area, follow it to the left, turning at a right angle, and you will come to a crossroads at elevation 434.
(12) Turn right towards the village of Maclas, following the pavements. Note the retirement home on the left, then a sawmill, also on the left. When you reach the village, take the first street on the right, which will bring you back to the town hall and the starting point (S/E).
