From Combalat to Bois de Chapellan via Beauregard in Félines

This is a short hike that complements the Ravin de Haut Gaillard hike, which starts from the same place. As with the previous hike, this route can be done in the middle of summer as it is entirely in the woods.

Description of the walk

Park in the hamlet of Combalat.

(S/E) Head north to pass between the houses, then turn left onto the path that immediately bends to the right. Continue straight ahead.

(1) Ignore the return path on the left and continue straight ahead. Pass a second path on the left and follow the trail that curves to the right at the edge of the woods. Then turn left and climb into the forest. Take thefirst path on the left.

(2) Cross the stream and continue straight ahead, ignoring the path that branches off to the right at the bend: if you take the wrong path, the two paths rejoin 250 metres further on. At the next two crossroads, turn left and head towards Beauregard.

(3) Turn right to go around the farm building, then turn right twice. Walk along the edge of the forest, continuing straight ahead and ignoring the path that branches off to the left, until you reach the next junction.

(4) Turn left a little way back into the Bois de Chapellan. Turn left at thefirst junction and continue for about 300 metres.

(5) Turn right onto Chemin de Beauregard until you reachthe first inverted Y-junction, which you already passed on the way there.

(1) Then follow the path on the right, which leads back. Pass thefirst house and take the path on the right, then turn left to return to the starting point (S/E).

Not being motorcyclists like the author of the ride, we had to cancel our trip because the planned parking spot was impossible to access. The entire area known as "Chambalat" is dotted with "no parking" and "private property" signs. Even on the small access road, it is impossible to stop with a vehicle, as it is difficult to pass other vehicles. We therefore turned back, very disappointed.
