From Lake Alfeld to the Gresson farmhouse inn

Departure from the Lake Alfeld car park (access via the Masevaux valley and the village of Sewen).

(S/E) Cross the dam of Lac d'Alfeld to the opposite bank.

(1) Leave the dam and turn right twice onto the path that descends south-east towards Sewen and the Seebach torrent.

(2) Cross the access road to the Baerenbach farm and continue downhill along the Seebach gorge. At the end of the gorge, the trail leaves the banks of the torrent. Continue for 400 metres.

(3) Take the path that climbs left towards the Baerenbach farmhouse inn. Keep right on the track to reach the farm.

(4) At Baerenbach, walk past the farm and continue along the path until you reach the junction with the track that leads to the right to the Isenbach Refuge.

(5) Turn right towards the refuge. At the Isenbach Refuge, continue climbing towards the Gresson hilltop until you reach the junction with the Blue Cross marked trail.

(6) Walk about 300 m opposite towards the Neuweiher lakes until you reach the Gresson farmhouse inn.

(7) Return to the previous junction.

(6) Take the path that climbs to the right and quickly enters the forest.

(8) At the crossroads, turn left and descend towards Lake Alfeld via the steep path before the junction with the ridge path and Roche de l'Enfer.

(6) At the junction with the Isenbach track, take the track on the right, ignore the first track on the left, then the path on the right, and continue downhill, keeping to the right, until you reach Lac d'Alfeld.

(1) Cross the dam to return to the car park (S/E).
