The hike starts at the Fort du Bruissin car park, Rue du Château d'Eau in Francheville (fort built between 1878 and 1881).
(S/E) Facing the fort, turn left and climb several steps to reach a spot with hiking signposts. Enter the woods and, at a crossroads, turn left. At the end of the path, turn right onto Rue du Château d'Eau. Continue to the end, turn left onto Route du Pont de Chêne and continue to a crossroads.
(1) Turn right onto Chemin des Mouilles, ignoring thefirst path on the left.
(2) Chemin de Pivolet, turn left after the place called "Le Pivolet", turn right and when you reach Avenue "André Devienne" turn left at the crossroads and take Rue de "Verdun".
(3) Turn left onto Chemin de Talas, then turn right onto the first road you come to at the end. You are now on Route des Pins.
(4) Turn left until you reach the Roman aqueducts. Retrace your steps, leave Route des Aqueducs (D50) on your left and take the next road on the left, called Vieille Route. Follow it until the next fork.
(5) Turn right onto Rue Anatole Celle. Ignore Boulevard des Vergers and the roads on the right and left and join Rue Étienne Radix at a crossroads.
(6) Turn left, ignore a street on your left and take the next left, Rue Jean Eugène Culet. At the fork, keep left onto Rue Favre Garin, then turn right onto Rue Antoine Rouillat. At the end, turn left onto Chemin Cartier and, at the crossroads, right onto Rue François Chanvillard until you reach the bend in this street.
(7) Take thefirst road on the right. At the end, turn left onto Chemin des Palisses and continue along Chemin de Merdarie. Turn right and follow Ruisseau du Merdendon on the left. Go around Étang du Boulard on the right.
(8) Continue along the road towards Collège Françoise Dolto and follow the cul-de-sac of the same name until you reach a roundabout.
(9) Turn left onto Avenue Paul Doumer and, at thesecond junction, turn right onto Avenue Moulins Les Metz, cross Avenue André Devienne and arrive at the junction with Allée des Tilleuls.
(10) Take Chemin Clos Roux opposite, then turn left onto Chemin du Chêne until you reach Pont de Chêne. Cross Route du Pont de Chêne and head slightly to the right.
(11) Turn left onto Chemin de la Source. At the crossroads (with Chemin des Roses), turn left and cross the two streams. At the next crossroads, turn right onto Chemin du Chalinel and you will come to a path on the right.
(12) Turn right onto Chemin de Sellegaud and, at the four-way junction, take the leftmost path and descend to the Yseron (a tributary of the Rhône).
(13) Before a footbridge, make a sharp right turn, follow the river on your left and ignore the path on your right. Continue to a crossroads.
(14) After crossing a stream, at the crossroads, take the path on the right, ignoring the two paths on the right and left. Pass on the left side of the Francheville Pony Club.
(15) Turn left onto Chemin de Findez and ignore several paths on the right and left. Continue to the forest entrance.
(16) Turn right onto a path towards Fort du Bruissin, then immediately left. Follow this path until you reach the Fort du Bruissin car park (S/E).
