At the southern exit of Chaponost, before the place called La Boirie, leave your car at the three-way junction along the road (there is space for 2-3 cars).
(S/E) After a few metres on the road towards La Boirie (south), turn right along the road, alongside the Christmas tree plantations. Ignore the two paths that branch off to the left of the cross. Continue for about 100 metres along the road, then at the La Boirie sign, take the path to the left of the farm (do not take the Route de la Gagère or the Chemin de la Garde). After 700 metres of almost flat ground, on a wide path, take the steeply sloping path into the woods.
(1) At the bottom of the path, turn right onto the road and continue for about 200 metres.
(2) Turn left onto Chemin du Gué, cross the Garon (ford or metal bridge), then turn left onto the path until you reach the houses and the road.
(3) When you reach the road, turn right immediately along the high wall on your left. At the intersection with a path, turn left into the woods. The path is wide and climbs gently. Leave the access road to the house on your right, and the path will give way to a road. At the first intersection, turn right and continue straight ahead on the road for about 300 metres.
(4) Leave the electrical transformer on your left and continue straight ahead on a farm track, then on a steeply descending path. Continue to the bottom of the valley, in the woods, along the small stream (which may be dry) on your right. At the bottom of the valley, cross another small stream, which may be dry. Follow the stream on your right downstream.
(5) At the end of the valley, cross the group of houses on the road, cross the Garon again (road bridge) and turn right to follow the road until you reach the intersection you passed earlier with Chemin du Gué.
(2) Then return via the path (Chemin des Lapins) in the opposite direction to the way you came, until you reach the descent to return to the starting point (S/E).
