Circular route from Champ de la Forêt to La Motte

Park in the church car park.

(S/E) Take Rue de la Motte, walking alongside the cemetery, and continue along this recently renovated, uphill street.

(1) At the Fork in the road, carry straight on along the dirt track, then enter the Bois des Cinq Ventes.

(2) As soon as you’ve passed through the gate, turn right onto a dirt track, then continue along a gently sloping path. Once at the end, cross a small ditch and head straight up through the woods for about 50 metres to reach the old railway line.

(3) Turn right and continue along the old railway line.

(4) At the junction, turn right, going round a small old hunting lodge with all the charm of days gone by. Continue along this wide grassy path, cross the stream and reach a fork about a hundred metres further on.

(5) Turn left at a right angle onto a small path, using a large tree stump marking the entrance as a landmark. Follow this path, which takes you to the edge of the forest, then continue along a dirt track.

(1) Turn left and retrace your steps along the path you took on the way there to reach the church square and the car park (S/E).
