Description of the walk

The walk starts and finishes in the village centre, near the church, where there is ample parking.

(S/E) At the front of the Church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité, head towards the square where there is a fountain. Take the road to the right of the fountain, which leads back up into the village.
At the crossroads, by the former police station, carry on straight ahead.

(1) At the sports hall, follow the path leading down to the right.

(2) At the Y-junction, continue along the path on the right until you reach the D91, Route de la Charente.

(3) Follow the road to the left for about 200 m. At Les Chillonnes, take the small road on the right, then the path on the left which, shortly afterwards, makes a right turn. At the junction, carry on straight ahead onto Route des Grands Prés.

(4) Turn right onto the track just before the woods. Join a road, follow it to the right, then cross the D91 with care and continue straight ahead.

(5) At the Y-junction, turn left. Carry on, ignoring all side roads. Turn right onto the road.

(6) About 150 m further on, leave the road and take the track on the left. Turn onto the first track on the right, join a road and follow it to the right. At the 228-metre mark, just before Tartou, follow the track on the right which leads to this hamlet.

(7) Immediately afterwards, take the track branching off to the right. Follow it to reach Montouleix. Follow the main road to the left.

(8) On leaving the hamlet, turn left onto the small road below the main road, then continue along the track that runs alongside it. Join the D91E1 and follow it to the left.

(9) At the junction, carry straight on along the small path. Join a road at the hamlet of Chez Jean Faure and follow it to the right.

(10) On reaching the village of Bussière-Badil, just before the crossroads, take the small flight of steps on the right
to reach the Church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité (S/E).

A lovely route through the countryside, the woods, the fields and pastures with cows. There’s plenty of shade along the route. We didn’t come across anyone (it was late August, but there was a threat of a thunderstorm). Really lovely!
