Description of the walk

Park in the car park on Rue du Vieux Pêcheur.

(S/E) Walk down the street for 50 m and take the small street on the left that descends between the houses and becomes a path after about 40 metres. Ignore the path on the left and continue straight ahead until you reach a fork.

(1) At the fork, keep to the right. Continue along this path alongside the Ruisseau du Val stream until you reach the end.

(2) Take theGR® (red and white markings) on the right until you reach a fork with steps.

(3) Ignore the stairs going up to the right (you will take these to leave theGR® on the way back) and continue down the stairs towards the Anse des Moulinets cove. Go over the boat launch rails and continue straight ahead.

(4) Ignore the second path that goes up to the right (this will be the descent on theGR® on the way back). After a descent, you will arrive at Pointe à l'Eau Gouleux. Go down to the small wooden barriers.

(5) Here, be careful to continue on theGR® via the lowest path on the right. (Do not take thefirst path that goes uphill). Soon you will begin an ascent on a winding, stony path that will take you to Pointe du Bec de l'Âne. From there, you will have a view of Nez de Jobourg. Continue climbing to reach the latter. Then continue along the path to Nez des Voidries.

(6) Here, leave theGR® via the path on the right and head towards the large car park where you will find a drinking fountain and a crêpe vendor!

(7) Continue along the D202 road (Route du Nez de Voidries) for about 900 metres. Be careful, as this road is quite busy with motorists arriving at and leaving the car park.

(8) Turn left onto a road reserved for residents (Chemin Marin) which leads to Hameau Samson. At the first intersection, continue straight ahead towards Hameau Mouchel.

(9) At the next intersection, turn right towards Mouchel-Croute à l'Âne. Shortly afterwards, on the right, you will see a shaded picnic area.

(10) After the wash house at the end, turn left onto Hameau Dannery and continue to an intersection with a wash house.

(11) Turn right twice onto a small road that quickly becomes a path. At each junction, turn right, following the yellow markings.

(12) At the end of the path, enter the hamlet of Thiébot, turning right. At the fork, keep right on a small road that will become a path in the undergrowth. Continue on this path, go around Lac des Moulinets and descend to the GR®.

(4) Take theGR® trail towards the boat launch rails and climb the stairs.

(3) Leave theGR® via the steps on the left and arrive at the private car park of the Moulinets restaurant. Then turn right onto the winding Moulinets road (D403E1), which has very little traffic. Follow this winding road to a crossroads, about 1 km away.

(13) Turn onto the second road on the right, which will take you back to the starting point, Rue du Vieux Pêcheur (S/E).

Difficult for a family hike with young children:
The steps at the launch site and the short stretch of path called "creve cœur" (heartbreak), which lives up to its name because it really does make your heart ache... about 1 km before Herqueville
On the other hand, very beautiful scenery
A very beautiful hike.

Hello,
Are you sure you haven't got the wrong route? A 13km /400D+ route seems far from easy for children.
As for it being uninteresting, that criticism should be directed at the Normandy coast.

Great hike!
To avoid the road section at the end, you can stay on the GR by retracing the same section as at the start...
Otherwise, do it in the opposite direction!

This cliffside route is very rugged, with lots of tiring ascents and descents. Walking sticks are essential. The scenery is magnificent on the way there along the customs officers' path. The return journey is either along the road or via country lanes.

A magnificent hike with breathtaking scenery!
I know the area well because I live there, but every time I visit, I rediscover it with just as much pleasure and joy!
The hike is a little difficult on the customs officers' paths, but it's so beautiful!
I changed the end of the hike towards Herqueville because I didn't want to go back up the road that leads to Anse des Moulinets, which is too crowded for my liking.
I preferred to take the same route back.

Superb route on the GR, along the coast. In December, there weren't many people.
