Park along the small park, Impasse des Dallettes.
(S/E) Walk down Impasse des Dallettes to its end. It continues as a dirt track that crosses a wood and then, flanked by a hedge, leads to a crossroads (elevation 324). Ignore the path opposite and the one on the right, and turn left. Zigzag through the hamlet of Le Bret to reach the Route du Bret (elevation 339).
(1) Follow it to the right for 200 m until you reach a Fork in the road. Ignore the path on the left and continue along the road to the right, then along a dirt track for 50 m. After it bends to the left, you’ll come to a junction with a sign for Le Bret. Leave the path and turn onto the one leading towards Dizimieux. Head down it to the right over rocky slabs that are often slippery. After a diagonal traverse across the side of the Grand Malval valley, you’ll reach a junction at a hairpin bend.
(2) Leave the path which turns right and crosses the Ruisseau du Grand Malval (north-west). Head along the path on the left (south-east) and, 30 m further on, cross the same stream at a ford. Through the woods, climb up the opposite slope via several rocky hairpin bends and emerge onto fields, which are almost level. Pass under some power lines and reach a Fork in the road after 200 m.
(3) At the Bertalin signpost, do not follow the sign for Dizimieux (along a muddy, sunken path with a stream running through it) but continue along the path running parallel to it. At the junction, ignore the path opposite and carry on to the right along the Route du Grand Pré. At the entrance to Dizimieux, take the street on the right which joins the village’s main street. Follow it until you reach a Fork in the road. Turn left and you’ll come to a junction opposite the cemetery.
,(4) At the Dizimieux sign, ignore the road on the right leading to the cemetery and carry on straight ahead to join the D28 (elevation 427). Pass through the hamlet of Le Gouttary and, after 1.6 km, reach a crossroads (elevation 381).
(5) Ignore the road opposite (which splits into two) and the path on the right. Turn onto the path leading up through the fields to the left (south). Go round the Butte des Tourrettes on the left and reach a junction (elevation 585), marked by a rectangular stone cistern.
(6) Ignore the path on the right and the one on the left (which joins a signposted path). Continue up the slope straight ahead and, at elevation 597, head back down to the Croix de Crême crossroads (elevation 584). Pass the two paths on the right and veer slightly to the left towards Marlin.
(7) At the sign for Marlin, ignore the path on the right towards Les Roches de Marlin and the one straight ahead towards Marlin. Turn slightly left onto the path towards the Croix de Trèves. (8) At the sign for Croix du Trèves (elevation 527), leave the road and head left towards La Balasserie. After about 1.2 km, ignore the path on the left before a group of houses, then continue along the one straight ahead which turns right to reach a junction at the entrance to the hamlet of La Balasserie (elevation 445).
(9) Ignore the road straight ahead and the one on the left, and take a muddy track descending to the right which winds its way between two houses. Go straight on at the crossroads 400 m further on, and also ignore the path on the right another 400 m further on. Head down the valley of the Ruisseau du Petit Maval. Cross the stream via a concrete footbridge and climb the slope opposite, ignoring the side paths. After the first house in Longes, you’ll reach a junction.
(10) Ignore the path on the left towards Dizimieux and, after 100 m, join the Grande Rue in the village of Longes. Head up this street to the right. At the first junction, ignore the Rue du Dauphiné on the left leading to the church. Continue along the Grande Rue, ignoring the D625 road on the right, and, 50 m further on, you’ll reach a three-way junction.
Ignore the D28 road in the centre and the street on the left. Take Rue du Château (uphill) on the right. At the junction, ignore Allée de la Roche on the left and Allée des Sœurs on the right. Stay on Rue du Château, which climbs straight ahead, then turn left.
(11) Leave Rue du Château 50 metres after the bend. Follow Chemin de la Madone to the right for about 70 metres. At the Fork in the road (elevation 490), ignore the level dirt track to the right and take the path to the left, passing in front of the Madone. At the edge of the Bois des Pères, you’ll come to a three-way junction.
(12) At the unmarked signpost, head towards Remillieux along the central branch until you reach a junction.
(13) At the ‘Bois des Pères’ sign (alt. 700 m), continue towards Remillieux. On leaving the woods, head for the Croix de Longes junction. Ignore the path on the right and stay on the path leading down towards a road at the entrance to the hamlet of Remillieux.
(14) At the ‘Remillieux’ sign, turn left towards the Col de Chassenoud onto an ascending road that continues as a track. Ignore the track on the right and proceed to a Fork in the road.
(15) At the unmarked signpost, ignore the path on the right towards Mont Monnet. Take the path on the left towards Chassenoud. Join the road leading to the hamlet. Turn right onto it to reach the D28.

(17) At the Col de Chassenoud sign, carry on straight ahead in the same direction along the D28. After 200 m, ignore the D28E on the right. Staying on the D28, after about 500 m, you’ll reach a junction to the right of a large tree.
(18) Leave the road and continue left onto an unmarked path. Climb across the fields, making a wide left-hand bend, then cross through a wood. After one kilometre, you’ll reach a crossroads.
(19) At the sign for La Grande Magdeleine, leave the path that heads straight ahead. Turn right (north-east) towards La Grosse Grange.
(20) At the sign for La Grosse Grange (alt. 483 m), continue straight ahead towards La Fournachère. Join a road and follow it down to the left for 200 m. At the junction, turn right onto the road and you’ll come out onto the D502.
(21) At the sign for La Fournachère (alt. 410 m), follow the road to the left for 200 m. At the sign for ‘Ici La Fournachère’ (alt. 410 m), leave the D502 and head towards Le Colombet along a path descending to the right towards the Ruisseau de Ruty valley. Cross the stream and follow its left bank for 100 m to reach a junction (elevation 342).
(22) Leave the riverside path on the right. Turn left onto a path climbing the opposite slope. In the hamlet of Le Colombet, turn right and, 50 m further on, reach a junction.
(23) Follow the sign for ‘Ferme du Colombet’ to the left. At the junction 150 m further on, ignore the path on the right. Take the one on the left which descends into the Mézerin stream valley. After a right-hand bend, cross the stream at the ford. Please note: after heavy rain, the water can reach mid-calf height and you will need to take off your shoes.
(24) Walk up the opposite slope until you reach a junction with a path. Ignore the path on the left. Take the one on the right towards the hamlet of Jannoray. Pass some houses, turn left then right and, 30 metres further on, you’ll reach a junction.
(25) Leave the road and turn left onto a flat path which then descends through woodland into the valley of the Ruisseau de Jannoray. Cross the stream and climb up the opposite slope. As you emerge from the woodland, the gently sloping path passes under high-voltage power lines and reaches a junction.
(26) At the ‘La Madone’ sign, ignore the road straight ahead and the track to the right. Follow the sign for ‘Le Garon’ to the left. You’ll reach a crossroads in the hamlet of Le Gonty (elevation 371).
(27) Ignore the two roads on the right as well as the first small path on the left. Take the second path on the left, running alongside a house and a shed on your right. After 200 m, leave this path and take a track on the right (west) which crosses fields and then a wooded area to reach a junction
(28) Ignore the wide path leading down to the left, which is shown as signposted on the IGN map although it disappears further on. Continue straight ahead towards the houses located after a right-hand bend. Just before this bend, look to the left for a ‘No Entry’ sign hidden by the undergrowth, situated beneath another ‘No Vehicles’ sign.
Reach these signs by following a track through the grass. Beneath the ‘Stop’ sign, it is stated that this restriction does not apply to fellow non-motorised walkers. Follow this path downwards, cross a stream and climb the hill opposite to reach a stony track. Follow it down to the right and join the Trèves road.
(29) Ignore the road to the right (which crosses a small bridge) and head left. Cross the Mézerin bridge and, 100 m further on, leave the road to head left up a path running through the woods. On emerging from the woods, cross the fields, pass a path on the right (elevation 353) and reach a road.
(30) At the ‘Le Garon’ sign, turn right towards Trèves. Leave this road 300 m further on to follow a small road for about 500 m until you reach a crossroads.
(31) Leave the small road and turn left onto the grassy and muddy Chemin de Malroche. Continue to the junction with the Chemin des Pierres Blanches. Carry on straight ahead along the same path until you reach the Route des Deux Vallées (D502). Take this road on the right. Just after the church, turn left onto the Impasse des Dallettes. Walk past the bell tower, turn right and then left to return to the car park (S/E).
