Circular route from Sermaise to Roinville, on either side of the Orge

Park in the car park at Sermaise station.

(S/E) With your back to the railway line, go to the far end of the car park. Continue along Chemin du Pont du Bois, cross the Orge river then turn left (GR®1) and arrive in Sermaise, opposite the church.

(1) Walk for about twenty metres, then turn right onto Rue de la Grosse Haie, staying on the GR®. At the end of the tarmac road, continue along the path uphill to Route de Villeneuve. Turn right and reach the three-way junction at the edge of the hamlet.

(2) Leave the tarmac road and follow the GR® to the right, staying on it until you reach Marchais.

(3) Take Rue de la Butte aux Loups on the right, walk for about fifty metres, then take the path leading down to the right. Between the high-voltage power lines, leave the GR® and follow the yellow-marked PR® to the right until you reach the tarmac road at Moulin Poissard.

(4) Turn left onto Chemin des Prés, coming out onto the D148 (Rue de l’Orge). Turn right, cross the bridge over the Orge, pass the school and reach the junction with Rue du Petit Château (D116) between the town hall and the church.

(5) Cross at the traffic lights and continue straight ahead onto Rue de Beauvais. Go under the railway line and follow the road to the right. At the three-way junction, follow the PR® to the left. Join Rue des Vignes and follow the yellow PR® markings, taking the left-hand branch at the three-way junction about fifty metres further on.

(6) On leaving the hamlet, at the manor house, take the right-hand fork and head onto the path through the fields, leaving the PR® behind. Walk for about 2 km, join the GRP® at the edge of the woods and follow it to a crossroads.

(7) Turn right at a right angle and continue straight on to the hamlet of Les Loges, which you reach via Rue des Loges.

(8) Turn right onto the Chemin de la Mare des Champs. You’ll come out onto the road (Rue de Beauvais) and turn right, heading uphill into the woods.

(9) As you leave the woods, at the bend to the right, turn left onto the path that descends to the bottom of the valley. At the T-junction, turn right onto the yellow-marked PR® trail which follows the Ravin du Patrouillot and climbs up towards the Ferme des Sueurs.

(10) Turn briefly right onto the Route des Sueurs, then turn left to pass between the pond and the farmhouse. Then follow the path along the edge of the woods for about 1 km.

(11) Leave the PR® by turning right. Continue to the edge of the woods and rejoin a yellow-marked PR®® trail. Enter the woods following the markings and cross through them to find yourself overlooking the railway line.

(12) Turn right onto the wide path running alongside the railway line. Continue along the tarmac section, then pass the bridge on your left and carry straight on along the path on the same side of the railway line until you reach Sermaise station. Cross the station via the designated crossings and head to the car park (S/E).
