Departure from Dourdan station.
(S/E) Whichever side of the station you are on, take the footbridge heading north. At the end of the footbridge, turn right then left onto Rue de l'Épine Blanche, which will take you straight to Bois des Brosses.
(1) Then take the aptly named Route du Bois des Brosses on your left, which will lead you to the D836, which you will need to cross on the right. You will then pass in front of the Semont forest house.
(2) Just after the forest house, leave the road and take the path on the left. Continue straight ahead until you reach Route des Buttes Blanches, where you will join theGR®1.
(3) You will then need to turn right to go up the path. You will cross the Route des Soupirs and continue west.
(4) At the star-shaped crossroads, follow theGR® (red and white markings), turning slightly to the right (third on the right) onto Route de la Lieu. Follow theGR® to reach Carrefour de Marcoussis (signpost).
(5) Continue along theGR® on the Route de Marcoussis (north-west) until you reach the Carrefour du Beau Chêne.
(6) Without crossing the road, head west on Route de Madame, which returns to the forest at the opposite end of your arrival point. This will take you straight to Carrefour de Madame.
(7) Take the second left and you will arrive at Carrefour de Nemours.
(8) Cross the car park and head west along Route aux Lapins (yellow markings).
(9) At the three-way junction, turn left. At the next junction, turn right at a right angle and go down a steep slope.
(10) At the bottom, turn left onto Route de Midi and follow it (still marked in yellow) to the Pavillon (forest house).
(11) Turn left and leave the forest house on your right. At the bottom of the slope, turn right onto Rue Julien Minos.
(12) At the T-junction, turn right. At the next junction (fountain at the end of the lane on the left), turn right and then immediately right again to reach the church.
(13) Retrace your steps back to the entrance to the village.
(12) Continue straight ahead (south). At a left-hand bend in the road, continue straight ahead and pass under the railway line (yellow markings). At the end of the tunnel, turn immediately left onto Chemin du Moulin du Pré. Continue straight ahead until the first intersection, where you will turn right.
(14) Continue straight ahead (south) onto Route des Sept Buttes. At Le Grillon, continue straight ahead on the same road and descend.
(15) At the bottom, just before crossing a stream, turn left onto Route du Parc aux Boeufs (yellow markings). Follow Ruisseau Poulet and cross Route du Président.
(16) At the next junction, turn left (yellow markings) to join Route de l'Élu. Then turn right and left at the next junction.
(17) You will cross Chemin de la Queue d'Auneau. Then, turn right onto theGR®111(red and white markings) on Chemin du Potelet until you reach Dourdan (roundabout).
(18) Go around the roundabout on the right, leave the police station on your left and follow Rue Lebrun due east. Take the fourth left, Rue du Puits des Champs.
(19) Just before crossing the Orge, turn right onto Promenade René Veneau. Cross the Orge immediately and walk along its right bank. Before the basketball court, turn left onto Rue Jube de la Perelle.
(20) Turn left, then take the next right, with a view of the church. Go up this street and take the first right to reach the church square.
(21) Turn left towards the castle and walk around it on the left-hand side. All that remains is to take Rue du Faubourg de Chartres to Avenue Amede Guenee, which ends at Dourdan station (S/E).
