Park at Place de l'Église.
(S/E) With your back to the church, join the D89 and turn left to follow theGR®89, which runs along the left-hand pavement for about 100 metres towards Sainte-Foy-l'Argentière. TheGR®89branches off to the left before the school, runs alongside the cemetery and reaches a calvary visible from afar by its three crosses.
(1) Turn right and, at the fork a few metres further on, turn left and continue to the junction with the D89. Cross (with caution) and follow the Virigneux road (a few metres to the left of the junction) for about 50 metres before turning onto the castle path on the left.
(2) After the château, continue straight ahead along the path, which descends gently and joins a small road. Continue straight ahead to the hamlet of Le Toinon.
(3) The path then branches off to the left and seems to "get lost" a little in the meadows (look out for the barriers provided for hikers). Cross the Ruisseau du Pont Lyonnais stream and reach La Protière.
(4) Go up the small tarmac road and then take the path that branches off to the left towards Haute-Rivoire via the Chemin des Gouttes. At Haute-Rivoire, turn left towards the small chapel.
(5) Shortly before the chapel, turn left onto Chemin de la Charmatière. Continue, ignoring the paths on the left, pass above the cemetery and go past the small "place de la pétanque".
(6) In the bend, turn left down a dirt track that runs alongside the Bionatis company to the road. Follow it to the left and then turn left onto Chemin des Lagunes, which descends and passes to the right of the settling basins. Cross the ford via the stone bridge (slippery when wet) and join the D89.
(7) Cross the road (with caution). Continue to the right until you reach Chemin du Pont Lyonnais on the left about 100 metres further on. Go up this road, ignoring the turnings on the left and right. Join theGR®89, which arrives on the right at the exit of the hamlet.
(8) Turn left, then quickly turn right and continue straight ahead to Saint-Martin-Lestra for just under 3km, paying attention to the white and red directional markers.
(1) At the Calvary, leave theGR® by turning left and then immediately right. Join the Lyon road (D89) and follow it to the right to return to the church (S/E).
