The walk starts from the village square. There are plenty of parking spaces available.
(S/E) Take the road on the left towards the church.
(1) When you reach it, turn left and take the pretty path called Rue du Champ Bonnot. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings with a pretty stone wall and a small bridge over a stream. This leads to the D238 road.
(2) Turn right and continue for about 400 metres until you reach a fork in the road.
(3) Take the path on the left: the direction "Granchamp" is indicated. The path continues with a small hill until you reach a fork (elevation 269).
(4) Follow the grassy path on the right. This may be muddy in winter but is well maintained. Continue for about 2.5 km: there is no chance of getting lost on this section of the hike. The uphill path leads to the heights of Rigny-sur-Arroux and arrives at a four-way crossroads.
(5) Take the path on the left towards a house with a yellow wall. You will reach a fork in the road at a place called La Plante.
(6) Turn left and head into the forest. Continue for 2.5 km along this very shady and quiet forest path. The forest is very well maintained and the path is pleasant. You will reach an intersection with another path.
(7) Turn left and continue until you reach the farm at a place called La Forêt.
Follow the grassy municipal hiking trail indicated by a sign until you reach a paved road and follow it to a crossroads at the entrance to Rigny-sur-Arroux.
(8) Cross Rue du Tailleur (C18) and continue straight ahead along Rue du Sabotier. Once you are opposite the restaurant, turn left to return to the village square (S/E).
