Description of the walk

Park in the car park by the picnic area before the bridge over the Marne.

(S/E) Cross the picnic area diagonally towards the Marne. You’ll come out onto a path; follow it to the left to join a wider track. Walk alongside the river, then veer off to the left. Pass the access to the lock on your right, then turn left at a 90° angle towards Courcelles.

(1) Cross the D320 (Rue Pascal) with care , continue straight on along Rue Diderot, then turn left at the junction. Walk through the vineyards, ignoring the various paths on either side, and carry on until you reach a four-way junction.

(2) Take the path on the left, passing in front of the cemetery. Carefully cross the D320 (Route de Champagne) and continue straight ahead along Rue du Clos des Vignes to enter Passy-sur-Marne. Reach the junction with Rue de Champagne, opposite Saint-Éloi Church.

(3) Turn right, walk past the town hall and continue along Rue du Gué.

(4) Before reaching the dead end, turn right onto Rue de Goivrerie. Carry on along the path into the vineyards and continue to the junction.

(5) Turn right 90°, rejoin the D320 and head right for a few metres before crossing it carefully to take the path running alongside the Grapillère buildings. Go straight on at the various junctions you come to, climbing steadily in a zigzag pattern.

(6) Turn left to follow a gently sloping path down to a crossroads situated directly opposite the hamlet of Rosay.

(7) Take a path on the left to head back down to the D320, which you’ll reach via Rue des Terres Cheval. Walk alongside the road on the right for about fifty metres, then cross carefully to take a path leading towards the Marne.

(8) Once at the T-junction, turn left into the woodland, then turn right to reach the riverbank.

(9) Turn left and follow the Marne for about 3 km. When you reach the bridge, turn left again to head back up to the road and return to the car park (S/E).
