Description of the walk

Start at the Maison Forestière de la Sente aux Moines in La Vallée, on the D313.

(S/E) Take the lane leading into the forest.

(1) Turn right onto thefirst proper path. Cross the Route de Martot in La Vallée and continue straight on, then turn left.

(2) Turn right to continue along a wide, long lane heading north-east.

(3) Head down the track on the right, then veer slightly to the left onto Chemin du Val Asselin. Cross the Route Forestière de Bonport and follow the track opposite. Continue straight on until you reach the quarries.

(4) Cross the quarry area and head towards Les Fiefs Mancels.

(5) At the exit, take a new, narrow grassy path that runs alongside the road and follow it to the end. Please note that this path is not shown on the map but is signposted.

(6) Turn left and take the path between the market gardeners’ fields and the housing estate, then turn left again. Pass by a sports ground and arrive at Rue de la Mairie de Martot.

(7) Opposite, take Rue Pierre Picard, walk past the cemetery and continue to the edge of the woods. Go round the woods on the left to reach a road.

(8) Turn left and follow this road.

(9) At La Fossette, turn left and continue along a dirt track until you reach a crossroads.

(10) Carry on straight ahead.

(11) Turn right to enter the forest and take the first right until you reach Mare Asse.

(12) Turn left, then take the second path on the right and continue to a T-junction.

(13) Turn left to follow the path, then head to the right and go up this forest track until you reach the finish (S/E).

A very pleasant short hike with beautiful forest trails that are unmarked, allowing you to explore at your own pace.
Very beautiful pond and totem pole. Very easy route, which I extended by doing the S/E at Criquebeuf sur Seine.
