Description of the walk

(S/E) Head north-east along the small road, following the yellow markings (PR®). Cross the D46 road (be careful, it is busy). Continue straight on until you reach a tarmac path, cross it and continue straight ahead to reach the village of Laubrecourt.
Please note: as you approach the village, be sure to follow the markings that turn left, as the straight path is private.

(1) Turn left and go straight on. Cross the road, continue straight on to reach the hamlet of La Molière.

(2) Turn right, follow the winding road and the yellow markings to the D46.

(3) Walk carefully to the right along the D46 for 50 m, then take the path on the left which quickly enters the woods. You will reach the entrance to the village of Lol Haut.

(4) Turn right at the village entrance, then go straight on until you reach the village exit, at the junction of several roads.

(5) Continue straight on, heading due south, along the path for 650 m, until you reach the road, then turn left and take the path on the right after 205 m; continue to the village of Leyssalles, 1 km away. (You can take a shortcut by taking the tarmac road to the left, passing the first junction and turning left after 1 km onto the yellow-marked path to reach point 1).

(6) Village of Leyssalles: at the first junction, turn left for 100 m then left again; continue along the wide track for 650 m to the junction.

(7) Turn left and take the white track, then the path that winds its way past the hamlet of Le Pech; after 600 m, cross the two roads, continue straight on for 400 m and turn right to reach the starting point (S/E).

Worth a visit

Visit Domme, La Roque-Gageac and Castelnau-la-Chapelle, some of the most beautiful villages in France just a few kilometres away,
Between points6 and 7, in season, there are beautiful orchids to admire, but please do not touch them.
Before Leyssalles, an old dovecote on the right.

A really enjoyable hike, with lovely hills that are fairly easy to climb.
With a GPS and by following the signposts, you’ll make good progress.

We found this route very enjoyable.
A few points to note: at point 5 it says: “Continue straight along the path until you reach the road”
It should be noted that on the descent, you need to leave the wide path and follow the stony track running alongside a stone wall on the right (follow the yellow markings carefully).
At point 6, I would have written: “In the village of Leysalles, at the first junction, turn left for 100 metres then left again onto the white path. (not the ‘tarmac road’)”

A lovely walk through the countryside, with charming little hamlets featuring houses and farms adorned with flowers. Beautiful views.
The only slight downside: it was difficult to park the cars at the starting point indicated on the guide. We parked the cars at point 1 along the road near a meadow. A walk to be recommended

Probably not the most scenic route in the area, but still pleasant and not too tiring! Lovely houses in Laubrecourt. It’s not easy to park the car in these hamlets.

Hello;

My wife enjoyed the route and the variety.
I found it rather disappointing: no high points, so no views, and ‘standard’ scenery (lovely countryside but nothing exceptional).
Thanks nonetheless to those who mark out the routes and to those who provide information (the Visiorando website in particular).
