Park in the car park at the town hall in Saint-Pierre-de-Genebroz.
(S/E) Take the stony path behind the town hall, then the road leading up to the Écolu viewpoint.
(1) At the Red Cross, turn right then left. Follow this road towards the viewpoint.
(2) At the viewpoint, take the path (GR®9) behind the picnic tables. Cut across the bend in the road and continue climbing, keeping to the right, along this road.
(3) Walk through the village of Bande. Pass Les Allonnières and arrive at the Riondet farm.
(4) Enjoy the stunning view over the valley. Retrace your steps for about 300m.
(5) At the bend before Les Allonnières, take the small path on the right which leads down into the forest. Join a track, turn left onto it, then rejoin the road at the entrance to the village of Bande.
(3) Head down the road. Take the bend to the left, then the hairpin bend to the right. Pass in front of the Relais de l’Écureuil (restaurant).
(6) Just before the Écolu viewpoint, take theGR® to the left (yellow sign). Follow the red and white or yellow markings through the forest. Take a look at the Meulière du Menuet (an old quarry for millstones).
(7) At this crossroads, turn left and follow the path (yellow signs) to the Chapelle de la Madeleine, a former leper colony. Panoramic views over the valley and the Chartreuse mountains.
(8) Retrace your steps to the previous crossroads.
(7) Head towards "Saint-Pierre-de-Genebroz" on the left (yellow sign). Walk down through the woods to the meadows.
(9) Take the road (D131) on the right which leads up to the church and then the town hall (S/E).
