Park near the Riondet Lodge.
(S/E) Set off eastwards along the path leading to Pré Pollet. The route is flat at first, even slightly downhill, then climbs gradually before becoming noticeably steeper as you approach the cliff face. Enjoy the view over the valley. You’ll reach the junction leading to Pré Pollet.
(1) Turn left onto a blue-marked path which continues the ascent, zigzagging towards the ridge. The path climbs towards the edge of the cliff before fading away towards a rock basin (a rocky depression).
(2) Go round it on the right before rejoining the cliff edge. Follow the cliff edge to the summit of Mont Beauvoir, marked by a triangulation point.
(3) Continue along the cliff face until you rejoin a well-marked path that continues to follow the cliff.
Just before reaching the Col du Caut, slightly to the left, the path disappears again (the Col du Caut path is then a forest track that you cannot miss). Reach the pass.
(4) Join the excellent Col du Caut path, which allows you to descend comfortably and quickly down the cliff face to reach the Mont Grelle forest track.
(5) Turn left onto it, heading south. Make your way to the summit of the Prés du Riondet, then, via a short stretch of tarmac road, to the car park where the walk started (S/E).
