Parking on the grassy triangle on Rue des Trois Communes, 2.5 km from the centre of Vénérand.
(S/E) Head north. At the sign for "Les Mallets", turn left. At the fork after the farm, leave the tarmac road and take the white path on the right.
(1) At the next fork, take the left-hand path and head due north. At a crossroads (elevation 92), continue straight ahead.
(2) Caution! At the next intersection, turn right at an acute angle (southeast). You will come to a small tarmac road; follow it to the left. You will pass through a place called "Vivien Jean".
(3) At the next intersection, take the white path that branches off to the right at the pine tree. Continue straight ahead (southeast) and, after a good kilometre, you will reach a road (D 134). Follow this road to the left for about 200 metres.
(4) At the intersection, turn right towards Chez Guillard. Ignore the access road to this locality on the right and continue along the road for about 200 metres.
(5) Leave the tarmac road and take a path that branches off to the right in front of a hunters' hut hidden in the woods. Continue straight ahead downhill (east-southeast) and ignore the paths branching off to the sides.
(6) At the bottom, take a path on the right that goes uphill. Ignore a path on the left and enter the woods. Ignore a path on the right and go back downhill. You will rejoin the tarmac road at La Tuisinerie.
(7) Follow the small road opposite for about 200 m. Turn right onto the path between the vineyards. Cross the D 134 again and continue on the path opposite, which passes at the foot of two high-voltage pylons. Ignore a path on the right and follow a stony path. Descend to the D129E3 road.
(8) Follow the road to the right for about 30 metres and take a path on the left that climbs into the undergrowth.
(9) Halfway along the path, take a very small path on the right for 200 metres. This leads to a larger path. Turn right until you reach the tarmac road.
Follow it to the left, climbing up to the crossroads.
Take the road on the right and continue straight ahead (north-west). Ignore a road coming from the left. At the next crossroads, you will find the car park (S/E).
A very beautiful route despite the rain and lots of forest trails.
