Access: Take the Col d’Ibardin road. On reaching the pass, head towards Bera; after the first right-hand bend, take the small road branching off to the left. It winds through the forest and then passes the Okalarre restaurant, where the car park is on the right-hand side of the road.
(S/E) Continue along the road towards the north-east for about ten metres; at the first junction, take the path on the left. Follow the edge of a wood and then a meadow, make a detour and pass close to the Eltzaurdia benta. Continue on to reach the French-Spanish border at a fenced-in field where there is also a sheepfold. Here you will find boundary marker 17.
(1) Turn left along the enclosed field to boundary marker 16, then take a path down to the right and quickly join theGR®10.
(2) Continue downhill on theGR®10to reach the Col des Abeilles.
(3) Turn right onto a variant ofthe GR®10, continuing downhill into the valley until you reach the source of the Intzolako Erreka (the Intzola Stream in Basque).
(4) Start climbing to the right onthe GR®10along the hillside. You will reach the French-Spanish border again, marked by boundary stone 18.
(5) Continue the climb and pass in front of the Benta Intzola before reaching the Benta Zahar.
(6) Leave theGR®10, which heads off to the left, and continue straight ahead. Follow the Sagasti Erreka stream and arrive at a crossroads at the hamlet of Basasagar.
(7) Turn 90° to the right, follow the northern slopes of Txarrantxarri and arrive at a wide pass with pidgeon hunting huts.
(8) Take the path on the right that runs alongside the pidgeon hunting huts. At the three-way junction, keep to the right to easily reach the car park (S/E).
