Col de Turini circular

From the Col de Turini, the trail climbs steadily towards the Cime de la Calmette, alternating between forest and open areas. The ascent is via a wide, safe path to the summit, which offers a beautiful view of the valley. The crossing to the Baisse de Patronel follows a pleasant path. The return journey, along a balcony path, becomes more challenging in places, with a few narrow passages requiring caution. A varied, bright and panoramic route, ideal for hikers accustomed to mountain terrain. Time: approximately 4 hours.

Description of the walk

Park at the Col de Turini, in the car park in front of the restaurants.

(S/E) Cross the Route du Turini, take the path that climbs slightly through the woods, then leads to a large clearing to reach marker 32, indicating the direction of the Cime de la Calmette.

(1) Turn right, go around the hills and, via a steep but clear climb, reach the summit of Cime de la Calmette.

(2) Continue straight ahead across the field to reach marker 183 and the GR®52A.

(3) Take it to the left and follow the red and white markings towards Baisse de Patronel, reaching the crossroads at marker 182.

(4) Keep left on the GR®, cross a clearing, then come out at Baisse de Patronel, marker 181.

(5) Leave the GR® here by taking the path on the left, at almost 180°, continue along a relatively flat section until you reach the ruins of Patronel.

(6) Continue along the flat path, then slightly uphill, crossing several streams before reaching the crossroads at marker 33.

(7) Turn left to return to the initial crossroads, marker 32.

(1) Head straight ahead and follow the same route you took on the way up to return to the Col de Turini car park (S/E).
