Talange Blue Circular

Between the canal and the Moselle, today's route is a short 3 km circular. There is a car park right next to the starting point, which is convenient. You can always extend the hike by continuing along the canal, either north or south. This towpath offers many kilometres of safe walking.

Description of the walk

If you are coming by car, the best place to park is in the small car park along the canal in front of the Talange waste collection centre.

(S/E) Head north towards Hagondange.

(1) Continue straight ahead, pass under the D55 bridge and follow the canal to the next bridge.

(2) Turn right towards the shooting range and the former restaurant "Le Martin Pêcheur". Please note that this is a little-used road, but well known to locals. Follow this road for about 1.2 km along the Moselle before rejoining the D55.

(3) Cross carefully as there is no pedestrian crossing and continue straight ahead. On your right are allotments and on your left is the wild, unchannelled Moselle river, where you will see many swans, cormorants and other birds. Reach the junction by the canal at the waste collection centre.

(1) Turn left to return to the car park (S/E).
