The route starts on the outskirts of Bellegarde-en-Forez, heading towards Saint-Cyr-les-Vignes.
(S/E) Head downhill to the left, past the Les Œillets housing estate, and join the Route de Saint-Cyr (D10). Take the first turn right then left to follow the dirt track. At the first junction, carry straight on to join the Chemin des Sermages.
(1) Turn left and follow the road, passing ‘Délices Foréziens’, a farm-based ice-cream maker. Then ride past the horse stables and the training track until you reach the next junction. Turn left onto the Chemin du Surget until you reach the junction with the D16, which links Saint-André-le-Puy to Saint-Cyr-les-Vignes.
(2) Turn left. Continue straight on towards Saint-André-le-Puy, passing the small cluster of houses known as Les Rompets. 100 metres after the last house, turn right onto a dirt track. Follow this dirt track straight on until you reach the tarmac road.
(3) Turn left to follow the road and, at the next junction, turn left again onto Rue du Puy to reach Rue des Rotys.
(4) Turn right, follow Rue des Rotys for about fifty metres and turn left onto Chemin des Sables. Follow this path straight on, then take the left-hand fork to join Rue de Saint-Cyr (D16).
(5) Cross the D16, then first turn left then right onto Rue Jacques Brel. At the end of the street, turn right and head up Rue Victor Hugo, towards the new school and the new town hall.
Cross the D1089 and continue straight on along Rue du Pont.
(6) After passing the sports hall and the small bridge over the Anxieux, turn left onto the new Voie Verte.
Follow this until you return to the entrance to Bellegarde-En-Forez.
(7) Turn left onto Route de Cuzieu, then keep left to follow Rue de l’Anzieux. Pass “Centre-Auto-Plaine” and join Avenue des Farges (D1089).
(8) Cross the road and follow the small path on the right which runs alongside the road and heads back up towards the village.
You’ll arrive in front of “Pharmacie Simonnet” and turn left onto Route de Saint-Cyr (D10), where a footpath on the right will take you safely back to your starting point (S/E).
