Loop starting from Solignac-sur-Loire

Parking is available near the old Solignac-sur-Loire station and the multi-purpose hall.

(S/E) With your back to the car park, join the D276 and head left towards the village. Take the first street on the right (Rue de Rome) and continue to Place du Marchédial.

(1) Turn left and join Rue de la Loire, then turn right. Pass the post office and town hall and follow the street to the small bridge over the Mussic stream.

(2) Take the small road on the right towards the village of Mussic. At the entrance to the village, turn right onto the path after a pretty fountain (below the road) and follow it to the junction with the D54 at the entrance to the village of Agizoux.

(3) Continue left towards the village.

(4) At the three-way junction, turn right to join the Greenway, and take it to the left.

(5) Cross a road and continue on the Greenway (alternatively, you can also follow the road on the left towards the village of Concis, which is a similar distance). After passing under the bridge, take the path on the left that goes up onto it (junction of the two options) and head towards the village of Concis.

(6) Turn right, pass a magnificent stone cross on the wall surrounding a house, then turn right again and pass the Gaec de la Virade farm. Continue along the path (GR®700) and enjoy the view of the Haute Loire and Ardèche peaks.

(7) Cross the D276 with caution in the direction of and up to the village of Coucouron, pass a large fountain and continue straight ahead.

(8) At the exit, continue straight ahead (very beautiful view of the village of Solignac-sur-Loire). The path becomes very steep and very stony, and zigzags into the woods.

(9) Take the small path on the hill to descend to the Greenway, at the entrance to a bridge over the D27, then turn right towards Solignac-sur-Loire and head for the old railway station (S/E).

There are several fountains in the villages, as well as crosses, including a magnificent one in Concis.

On leaving Concis, the view is remarkable.
