In Cambo, head towards Hasparren. On leaving Cambo, take the small road on the right signposted "vente de myrtilles" (blueberry sale). (Chemin de Macaye) Park next to Domaine Xixtaberri: there are a few spaces on the right in the grass.
(S/E) Take the path on the right heading south, go over a cattle grid and follow this path to Gillamuren Borda. Take the track on the right for a short distance until you reach the first fork. The return path is on the right.
(1) Follow the well-marked path on the left that descends slightly. Leave a grassy path on your right and continue straight ahead until you reach a high-voltage pylon.
(2) Leave the main path, which turns right. Go completely left, heading north. The path climbs, turns east and arrives at a fork.
(3) Take the path that climbs and branches off to the right, joining a wide track.
(4) Turn left and pass to the left of a renovated barn, then join the track that climbs up from Hasparren.
(5) Take this track on the right and follow it to an antenna.
(6) Just before the antenna, climb up to the right along the path of your choice to the summit of Ursuya.
(7) Follow the ridge eastwards. Very quickly, you will find a wide path leading downhill. Leave the path that follows the ridges on your left and follow the one on the right, which descends steeply. It turns completely to the right and joins a forest.
(8) Leave the main path that descends to the left and go straight ahead. This well-marked path passes to the left of a ruin covered with brambles. Keep following the path on the far right until you reach a right-angle turn.
(9) Leave this path, which forks left at two buildings. Pass between the two buildings and join a wide track. Follow it to the Mokorreta hut.
(10) Leave the track and take a grassy path just next to the barn. After a hairpin bend, you will reach a crossroads. Leave the wide path that descends and turn right. You will arrive at a stony track. Follow it until you reach a hut and a car park for another departure point towards Ursuya. Go left until you reach a gate.
(11) From there, follow this grassy path that follows a ridge line with magnificent views. Pass three more gates and arrive at a cattle grid, which you cross to the right to reach an intersection with the outward route.
(1) Follow the same route back to the Xixtaberri Estate (S/E).
lovely walk on very pleasant paths, with a 360° view when you reach the top. With views of the coast and surrounding mountains. Not much shade, so bring a hat if the sun is shining!
