Description of the walk

Start from the sports hall car park.

(S/E) Head east along Rue des Merisiers (D47) until you reach the junction with the D93.

(1) Turn right onto Rue des Hirondelles, heading south-east, continue straight on through Les Chambrettes and arrive at La Goupillère.

(2) Turn left at the next junction and turn left again, heading north towards La Hautais.

(3) Turn right onto the D47 and follow it for 750 m. Take care – there is a lot of traffic. Pass two telecoms masts and you will arrive near the Étang Communal de la Moncelière. You can walk round the lake (+ 800 m).

(4) Head right, pass through La Moncelière, then Le Haut Perray, and arrive at the next junction in Le Perray.

(5) Turn left towards the north onto a country lane, cross the Ruisseau de la Moncelière and arrive at La Beltière. Some have nicknamed this climb ‘the Tourmalet’. On this hill, at an altitude of 93, there used to be a windmill, visible on the 1811 land registry map.

(6) Walk along the left-hand side of the D47 for 100 metres, cross carefully and take the small track opposite. Pass through Chevru and arrive near the orchards.

(7) Head north-west to the left along the farm track, passing the wayside shrine, then the hamlets of La Morinais, La Bleure, Les Touchettes (an unusual earthen bus shelter) and Les Cours Andouards.

(8) Turn left towards the south-west onto a farm track; at the bend, take the footpath (very wet in winter) which will lead you, past the sewage treatment works, to Bois Oger.

(9) Take the D47 to the right towards the west, heading back up through the village.

(1) Carry on straight ahead, still on the D47, until you reach the sports hall car park (S/E).
