Access: From the N137, Rennes-Nantes, take the Poligné exit and follow the D47 towards Pancé.
Park near the Forêt du Tertre Gris sign (4 to 5 spaces).
(S/E) With your back to the car park, take a descending path which is lined in places with a rustic handrail. You will regularly come across information signs along the way.
At the first crossroads, marked by an old fallen tree trunk, take the left-hand path. Continue downhill, following a rustic staircase to reach a quarry face (information sign).
(1) Make a short return trip to the cliff to see the remains of an ampelite vein (pyrite schist with a high proportion of organic matter, which gives it its black colour). Continue downhill to reach the River Le Sennon, a tributary of the Vilaine. Turn left and follow the river upstream. This wide, flat path runs alongside the cliff where you can see the black rock. You will reach an information panel about a hand-dug underground tunnel used to explore the subsoil to determine the possible presence of an ampelite vein. It stretched for several dozen metres but has been partially filled in and blocked by rockfalls.
(2) At the three-way junction, take the path going up to the left, leaving the other path which continues along the river. Follow this path which passes below the "Jeannot Haguennier" open-air theatre.
(3) Turn right to reach the Passage des Asphodèles. At the road, turn right towards the centre of the village of Pancé. Pass in front of the pretty town hall, reach the church and then turn around, following the path on the right-hand side. Pass the sports field, cross the D37 and pass above the open-air theatre. Continue to reach the viewpoint. Continue along the path that descends to the next intersection.
(4) Take the path on the left which continues downhill. This path cuts diagonally across a pine forest which was partially burned in April 2009. This part of the route is more difficult as the relatively steep path runs halfway up the slope.
Rejoin the path you took on the way up just before the quarry face. Turn right and climb the stairs you took on the way up. At the last fork, take the path marked by the fallen tree trunk. Continue climbing until you reach the car park (S/E).
