Barrancos de los Molinos and Fuerte Ventura

A magnificent walk (a real surprise!) in a wild, very quiet barranco, carpeted with greenery around a permanent stream, with birds (ducks, waders, eagles) and goats roaming free. The water comes from the rock, 500 m after the car park. A haven of wild peace and a real surprise in such an arid environment.

Description of the walk

From the Holuszka car park (marked on GPS), take the path down into the ravine (to the right of the car park entrance) and then you have two options: walk through the gorges to the small port of Los Molinos or, as we did, at the second "gorge" on the right (it is lined with two small caves - you can't miss it), climb up to the plateau via the rock (not difficult but be careful nonetheless). From there, turn left onto the track leading to the ocean, then turn left and walk along the ocean to reach the small port of Los Molinos. It's arid, wild, and feels like the end of the world. Return to the car park via the ravine.

Be careful at the two small caves; find the right path and remain cautious.
A very beautiful hike, where you feel like you're alone in the world.
You can grab a bite to eat at the little port of Los Molinos.
I highly recommend it.

Thank you for this bucolic route at the bottom of the valley; a wonderful discovery in a hostile environment.
However, the climb back up to the plateau is difficult and not suitable for everyone! It's like rock climbing!
It is also important to note that, in order to protect birds during the breeding season, access to the ravine is restricted from 15 February to 31 July.
