The hike starts at the car park in the hamlet of Mongrésin, in the commune of Orry-la-Ville (Oise). This hamlet is located on the D924a south of Chantilly.
(S/E) Leave the car park and head towards Chantilly on the D924a for about 100 metres.
(1) Take Route Manon on the left (due west). Walk along the properties until you reach the one with the number 16 on its letterbox.
(2) At the end of the fence, turn immediately right onto the path leading into the vegetation. Follow this path for about 300 metres and, at the junction with a wide path, turn right onto it.
Continue, then cross the D924a and turn slightly right onto the forest track leading to Poteau Saint-Hubert.
(3) Turn left onto Route de Pontarmé until you reach Carrefour du Ministre.
(4) At the crossroads, turn right between forest plots 244 and 245 (note that the numbers are very difficult to see).
At the next intersection, continue straight ahead between plots 224 and 225.
At the next crossroads, turn right onto the path between plots 213 and 224.
Continue to Poteau des Bruyères.
(5) Turn left onto Route Ronde towards Carrefour Saint-Nicolas. Continue across Chaussée Brunehaut (marked red and white) and, 300 metres further on, you will come to a junction with a racehorse training track. A triangular sign warns of the danger posed by horses on this track. Cross carefully and immediately turn right onto the path running parallel to it.
Walk to the Carrefour de l'Entonnoir.
(6) Turn onto thethird road on the right, Route du Chapitre, towards Poteau Saint-Léonard.
Cross the Saint-Léonard crossroads and continue along Route du Chapitre to reach the Chapitre crossroads 500 metres further on.
(7) Turn left, heading due east, between plots 137 and 169.
Walk to the D1017 and cross it. At the next junction, turn right between forest plots 162 and 163. Continue for about 700 metres.
(8) At the crossroads, turn left between plots 182 and 205. Go to the second crossroads, then turn right, heading south, onto the path between plots 202 and 203.
Continue. At the next fork, turn right to follow plot 233.
(9) Turn right and follow plots 248, 249 and 250 on your left for about one kilometre until you reach the Laversin crossroads.
(10) At the crossroads of six roads and paths, take the second path on the left and, 20 metres further on, take the path that branches off to the right (the tracks on the ground show the most frequently used path). You will reach the D1017 next to a calvary erected in memory of the bombing of the round table in 1944.
(11) Cross the road, turn left and, a few metres further on, turn right into the lane leading to Pontarmé Castle.
Walk along the lake surrounding the château, then, at the crossroads, continue straight ahead on the track that winds its way back to Mongrésin for two kilometres.
(1) Turn left after crossing the D924a, and you will see the car park in front of you (S/E).
