Walk from the Ruisseau des Salles to the Bois de la Binoche

Park in the nursery school car park on Rue des Champs Rouges.

(S/E) As you leave the car park, turn left. Cross the stream and continue straight on until the next junction. Walk alongside the poplar grove, turn left onto Chemin de l’Étang, then walk alongside the sports ground. Pass the pumping station and continue along this path, which branches off to the right alongside the motorway.

(1) Turn left to go under the A19 motorway bridge, then turn left again immediately. At the next Fork in the road, follow the path that goes uphill to the right. At the second Fork in the road, turn right again, then carry on straight ahead for a few hundred metres before turning left.

(2) At the next junction, turn right; walk a few steps to join the^GR®213and follow it down to the left.

(3) At the next junction (a lovely view over the Yonne valley and the north of the Sénonais), take the path on the right. Follow this path for a good distance until you rejoin the^GR®213route.

(4) Take this path and continue straight ahead. Pass under the motorway bridge again, in the opposite direction, to reach the first junction.

(1) At this point, turn left to walk alongside the motorway behind the Les Genêts residential home (APEIS) until you reach the next junction. Turn right onto the Chemin Rural des Forêts, then right again onto this tarmac road.

(5) At the junction with the Chemin des Communes, turn left to join the Rue des Froments. Walk a few steps to the right, then cross the road to take, almost directly opposite, a narrow path that leads to the Rue du Moulin through the gardens. Turn left to pass in front of the war memorial, then turn right at the corner of the washhouse to follow the Rue des Froments.

(6) Turn right opposite the town hall courtyard to take a small path that runs behind the mill, then return to the starting point (S/E)

(Between S/E and 1) As you walk alongside the poplar grove, you may be lucky enough to spot some Scottish Highland cattle on your left, which regularly graze in this area.

For your safety, please avoid using this route during the traditional hunting season from 1 October to 28 February.

Walks through woods and forests must be undertaken on country lanes; entering any woodland (even communal woodland) is prohibited. Please take care.
