Boulevard Maupéou car park, opposite Sainte-Mathie Church.
(S/E) Walk up the promenades towards the fountain. At the fountain, turn left and cross Boulevard des Garibaldi. Walk past the entrance to the Théâtre Municipal.
(1) At the next roundabout (known as the "Demi-Lune" roundabout), take the second street on the left, Rue du Général Leclerc. Cross immediately to the opposite side to reach a small passageway (no entry sign, behind the Tourist Office), Rue Benoît Voisin. Then turn right onto Rue Claude Dechambre, which runs alongside the cemetery. At the end of this street, turn right, then immediately left onto Rue des Chaillots (running alongside the cemetery).
(2) Turn left into Rue de la Pépinière. Cross Boulevard de Verdun. Walk a few steps and turn right onto Rue de Thorigny. Continue straight ahead, leaving the two cul-de-sacs on your right. Walk down the street and pass between the wooden posts on the right to reach the “green corridor”.
(3) Continue to the right for a good distance in this direction, crossing the road four times. Walk past the Centre de Secours (on the left) and Les Charmilles (on the right).
(4) Before the D606 bridge, take a small path on the right to reach Rue Colette. After the bend, turn left onto Rue Pierre Lavergne, then continue along Rue Albert Einstein. After the bend, leave the street and continue straight ahead along a small path. Cross Route de Maillot, walk to the left, then join Chemin des Boutours a little further on to the left.
(5) Continue along this path, skirting the Vanne and the allotments.
(6) At the end of the path, turn left onto Rue des Maraîchers. Cross Avenue de Sénigallia to reach Chemin d’Entre Deux Vannes on the left. Continue along Chemin de Babie.
(7) Walk past the entrance to the Parc du Moulin à Tan. During the park’s opening hours, you can walk through it for 300 metres, crossing a small bridge after the picnic area, following the wind turbine and, at the park exit, taking the path on your right to reach the bridge over the Lingue.
Outside the park’s opening hours, continue along Chemin de Babie, then turn left onto Rue de Mocquesouris. Continue along Rue Eugène Delaporte. Turn left onto Rue Champbertrand. Cross three watercourses: the Rû de Monsalé, the Vanne and the Lingue. Then turn right towards the banks of the Yonne, following the Lingue.
(8) Turn right onto the towpath. Continue along Quai du Petit Hameau, then Quai Ernest Landry. Head down to the left and pass under the Yonne bridge (paved quay) to reach Quai Jean Moulin. On the opposite bank, you can see Saint-Maurice Church, the former parish church of fishermen and boatmen.
(9) At the end of the quay, turn right. Walk past the Square du Clos le Roi, then join the promenades. Walk past the bandstand and you will see the Church of Sainte-Mathie (on the left) and the car park where you started (S/E).
