Description of the walk

The route starts on the banks of the Marne in Damery, where you can park (Rue du Coche).

(S/E) Head in the opposite direction to the bridge and follow Rue Alfred Révolte, then turn left onto Rue Paul Douce. At the roundabout, go straight ahead towards Fleury-la-Rivière. Just before the cemetery, turn left, then take a quick right-left turn to follow Chemin d’Arty.

(1) At the corner by the electricity substation, turn right, following theGR® markings (red and white). Continue in the same direction (north) until the paths form a T-junction with the D22a: here, turn right.

(2) At the crossroads by the wayside cross, turn left, go past the hairpin bend and continue to the crossroads where you enter the woods. Head towards Reuil, taking the single-track path to the left.
You pass through the woods, then through a cleared area beneath the high-voltage power line, and then back into the woods.

(3) When you reach a crossroads, with a view of the Ferme d’Harnotay, leave theGR® (which is poorly maintained on this section) and take the small tarmac road opposite that descends towards Venteuil. Lovely view of the valley and Boursault Castle.

(4) At the football pitch, turn right onto the path that leads through the vineyards and follow it to the cemetery.
Walk along the top of the cemetery, turn left onto Rue de Grands Jardins and turn right. After 20 metres, turn right again and follow Boulevard Saint Michel, which then becomes Rue de la Potière and joins Grande Rue (D1).

(5) Turn right. Pass through the hamlet of Tincourt, staying on the Grande Rue, which slopes slightly to the left.

(6) At the last houses, in front of the memorial stone, turn left onto the dirt track that descends into the vineyards. Ignore the first track on the left and take the second one.

(7) When you reach a crossroads, head straight ahead. Pass in front of a house without changing direction. Walk through the fields until you reach a small road, where you turn left at a right angle. This road takes you to the banks of the Marne.

(8) At the Damery-Venteuil lock, continue along the canal in the same direction, and follow the banks of the Marne straight on until you reach the starting point (S/E).

A pleasant walk that takes you on a tour of Le Pâtis.
A bit damp in winter, but that’s the case pretty much everywhere in the forest.
However, forestry machinery had been through and left behind deep ruts filled with water, which were difficult to navigate at times.

Thanks for your feedback. In the summer, it’s usually fine.

A pleasant and very varied route. Apart from the odd puddle here and there, there’s no problem with mud in the pastures

We're crossing some marshy ground today. Waterproof shoes are always recommended.

Hello,

When we went on this hike, it had been freezing for several days
and the mud was as hard as stone. We had no trouble
making our way through in these conditions.

A nice little walk; the meadows in question were very damp at that time of year...

Thanks for the tip. Isn't there too much mud in the fields?
