Go to Courmes via the D253 from Bramafan. Park in the car park on the left at the entrance to Courmes.
(S/E) Head towards the back of the car park. Do not head towards the town hall, but cross the field behind the car park and turn left at the end of the field. Leave the cemetery on your right and climb up to the oratory where you will find marker 82.
(1) Turn right towards the Courmettes estate. Go up a pretty shaded path with a low stone wall on your left and marked in red and white (GR®51) until you reach marker 83.
(2) Turn right towards the Courmettes estate via theGR®51. Climb up a wide stony path surrounded by trees for about 100 metres. Then leave this track, which heads to the left, and follow a small path opposite, still marked in red and white. Stay on this charming old mule track, which is shaded and has many wide stone steps.
(3) Cross a small stream, which is dry in summer. Avoid several junctions by following the GR® markings. At the end of the climb, you will arrive at marker 190.
(4) Turn left towards Saint-Barnabé and Coursegoules, following theGR®51. Stay on this wide, shaded path, which resembles an old Roman road. The path then splits in two. Take the left-hand path and admire a charming little wash house on the right.
(5) Continue along the path that opens up on the left to enjoy a beautiful view of the peaks, the Wolf Gorges and the village of Courmes. The path is fragrant with thyme and other aromatic herbs. Continue to marker 84 on your right. Please note: the marker is difficult to see as it is hidden by vegetation.
(6) Turn left towards Courmes via Les Vignes (direct). You will leave theGR®51to descend a short, steep and winding stony path marked in yellow. Admire the many flowers. This path ends with a pretty little stone staircase that leads back to marker 83, which is a little higher up on the left.
(2) Turn right towards Saint-Barnabé via Les Vignes (straight ahead) and continue along this wide path lined with tall pine trees on the right, followed by beautiful eucalyptus trees.
You will arrive at the end of the path, marked by a red rope across the path. Return to the car park (S/E).
