Walk along the Anse de Saint-Laurent

A short, very easy return walk along the GR®34, by the water’s edge with magnificent views along the coast.

Description of the walk

To get to the start point from Beg Menez, follow signs for Concarneau via the Route Côtière, cross the bridge over the Saint-Laurent and you’ll soon reach the car park on the right.

(S/E) Take the path leading down towards Anse de Saint-Laurent and cross the bridge. Continue along the path that runs alongside the stream on your left, pass a beach and arrive at a campsite.

(1)Continue along the cove until you reach the end of the campsite.

(2) Take the very narrow path on the left and follow the shore of the cove until you reach Kerleven Beach.

(3) After enjoying the spot, return via the same route you took on the way there to the car park (S/E).

Notes

You can do a circular route of varying lengths, reaching Kerleven Beach and the Port-la-Forêt marina in Fouesnant on foot; I wanted to share the starting point of a path that isn’t necessarily obvious to those unfamiliar with the area.

There’s a small car park at the start! Please note that on Sundays when the weather’s fine, this is a very popular walk!

Near the start, there’s a good chance you’ll spot one or more little otters playing in the water!

A family-friendly walk, very easy, but please note it’s not tarmac – it’s a dirt track with roots and stones.
Sturdy footwear is recommended, especially after rain!

On Sundays when the weather’s fine, it gets quite busy.

There’s a beach a little further on (500 m).

You can do a circular loop.

Worth a visit

In Kerleven, during the season, there’s a restaurant overlooking the beach and the Port-la-Forêt marina, with plenty of cafés serving sweet treats (crêpes, pound cake, ice cream, etc.)

Concarneau, Port-la-Forêt, the harbour, “Le Copa” restaurant (Copacabana), cafés…

Magnificent scenery! A peaceful hike and, thanks to Visiorando, no worries about straying from the path! For someone like me who has no sense of direction, this is the only way to discover places like this.

A parish specific to Brittany that's easy if you want to keep it short and sweet.
