Description of the walk

Due to a high number of instances of disrespectful behaviour, crossing the private property of the Relais du Grand Logis is now prohibited to the public.

The start of this walk is now on the D42 road to Beaumont de Pertuis, on the right after the short tunnel under the railway line. Park on the right after passing under the railway line on the D42.

(S/E) Follow the D42 uphill towards Beaumont de Pertuis.

(1) On your left, look out for a yellow sign: follow a pleasant path that becomes shaded by the woods, head up the Ravin des Boulettes and ignore all the turnings on the left. Pass under a power line and, about 500 m further on, you will reach a junction.

(2): Take a path on your left under the trees (not shown on the map), which leads to a field. Walk along the edge of the field.

(3) You’ll come to a track; follow it to the left. After about a hundred metres, ignore a path branching off to the left and follow the track uphill to a plateau, where you can enjoy the sweeping view of the Durance and the Château de Clapier vineyard.

(4) At a fork, continue along the track on the right and head downhill. Follow a few hairpin bends which will take you back to the D42, which you follow downhill to your car.

A very pleasant short hike.
No signposts, but impossible to get lost!
We spotted it on 8 October and then did it with the hiking group on 10 October, and both times we didn't meet anyone!
It should perhaps be noted that the very round pebbles can cause slipping in places, both uphill and downhill. You have to watch your step in places as these small round pebbles slip under your shoes, even with Vibram soles. Lightweight shoes are not recommended.

A walk taken on a Sunday morning in mid-October. Lovely weather. An easy route with a gentle climb in the first half and a slightly steeper climb at the start of the return leg, but nothing too challenging.
A pleasant walk with a wide variety of tree species. Beautiful views overlooking the Durance valley on the way back.
Return trip starting from point 1, about 2 hours walking at a normal pace but without very long stops.
Seems to be quiet at this time of year.

A pleasant and varied walk. Deciduous trees on the way out, conifers on the plateau on the way back, and a 270° view of the Durance valley and the surrounding mountains. Clear directions. Take care at point 4: the path on the left is rarely used, so it’s not very visible. If you can see the road ahead of you, then you’ve missed it!
It took us 2½ hours, bearing in mind that we are keen walkers, but not the youngest (70 years old)!
Thank you for this lovely walk.
