Park near the town hall of Puy-Saint-Martin.
(S/E) Take Rue du 19 Mars 1962, Route de Manas. Cross the D6, Grande Rue and go up Rue du Bourg, then turn right onto Rue des Remparts.
(1) Turn left onto the cobbled Montée Portal, then right onto Montée des Genêts and immediately left onto Chemin du Belvédère.
Pass the well on your right, which is probably part of the old medieval castle. Immediately after, go up the path on the right. At the intersection, turn left, then right at the next fork. Go up to the cemetery wall.
Turn right onto Chemin du Belvédère, which surrounds the ruins of a castle that was severely damaged in the17th century during the Wars of Religion between Catholics and Protestants.
At the viewpoint, take advantage of the orientation table offering a beautiful 180° view of the Valdaine plain. Continue along the road and walk along the cemetery on the right. Leave the Montée des Genêts on your right; at the next crossroads, go down La Montée du Téron on the left. You will reach the Chemin des Ours crossroads.
(2) Take it on the right and continue along it to reach the woods at Ruisseau du Charivari.
(3) Ford the stream. Then climb up a steep slope to rejoin:
- the Puy-Saint-Martin routes 5, 6 and 32.
- and routes 19 and 70 from Roynac to a large field.
Turn right along the field. Continue to the Auriples road.
(4) Turn right and follow it to the junction with the D6.
(5) Cross the picnic area and enjoy the view over the Valdaine plain. Immediately turn left onto a path that descends steeply.
Continue along this wide path, passing a reservoir, then the Chanteperdrix neighbourhood. You will rejoin the D6.
(6) Turn left and take Rue du 19 Mars 1962 to reach the town hall and the car park (S/E).
