Park at Clos de la Naive, near the Auchan store.
(S/E) Follow Chemin de Naive, then turn right to cross the bridge over the A450 motorway. Continue to the roundabout.
(1) Turn left onto the Chemin de la Pillotte footpath just behind the main road and follow it to the end.
(2) Cross Avenue Chanoine Cartellier, take Chemin de la Pilotte opposite and walk along a field to reach the Chemin des Barolles crossroads.
(3) Continue straight ahead on this path until you reach Avenue du Maréchal Foch, which is also the D486.
(4) Cross and climb the fairly steep slope of Chemin de la Pierre Souveraine to the junction withthe GR®169.
(5) Take this path opposite and follow the red and white markings. You will reach the Sacuny Plateau and then the Lyon Observatory. Continue until you reach a five-way crossroads. Leave theGR® here and turn right onto Rue des Martyrs. A few metres further on, you will find the Fort de la Côte-Lorette crossroads.
(6) Turn left to go around the fort.
(6) Back at the crossroads, turn left onto Rue des Martyrs. Continue, crossing Avenue du Maréchal Foch with caution. Continue straight ahead onto Rue de la République to reach the entrance to Château de Beauregard.
(7) Keep left on Rue de la République, then turn right at the roundabout onto Avenue de Verdun. Continue to another roundabout.
(8) Turn left here onto Route de Charly. Stay on this road at all junctions and cross the A450 again to reach the junction with Rue des Ménestrels.
(9) Turn right onto this road and, at the end, you will come to Chemin de Naive. Turn right onto this road to return to the car park near the Auchan store (S/E).
A really lovely route for the first half, as it takes you straight out into the countryside. The second half is less interesting, as it goes through town or residential areas.
