Park in the car park at the entrance to the Couzon dam.
(S/E) Go down a path under the dam and follow the river through the woods.
(1) Cross a bridge (an old aqueduct) and continue along the left bank. Go up a valley on the left, then on the right, to come out into a clearing.
(2) Walk past a house and continue north on a path that runs along the Couzon valley. Before a large power line, the path turns west and joins a road at the entrance to the hamlet of Richardon.
(3) Take the road south for 600 metres and arrive at elevation 410.
(4) Turn right onto a track to Granay.
(5) Take the small road below to the south-west, which turns into a path and crosses the Egarende stream.
(6) Continue until you reach the village of Farnay.
(7) Cross it heading south. At the next crossroads, take the path heading due south that climbs up to the reservoir, then to La Vierge.
(8) Turn southeast and continue to reach the highest point of the hike at Crêt de Montieux.
(9) Descend east-southeast to join a path coming from the Croix du Mazet.
(10) Take it to the left, heading due north, and you will reach a crossroads at a designated area.
(11) Turn right at almost 180°, continue across a meadow and reach the edge of a wood.
(12) Turn left, then take a wide circular right turn to enter the woods. Exit via a hairpin bend to the left and arrive at the hamlet of Les Côtes.
(13) Continue straight ahead to reach a car park at the entrance to the village of Sainte-Croix-en-Jarez.
(14) Turn left onto the road marked with yellowPR® signs. Stay on this road and walk steadily until you reach a crossroads with a cross.
(15) Turn right onto the path and then back onto the road. Follow it to the right to reach the village of Seyoux.
(16) Turn right to descend to the river and lake. Follow the path on the left to thefirst small dam.
(17). Here you have two options:
- continue along the left bank of the lake to the dam, which you cross to reach the car park (S/E),
- or cross and follow the right bank of the lake to the dam (nice path) to reach the car park (S/E).
