Park to the east of the dam on the Couzon.
(S/E) Walk along the dam towards the left bank of the Couzon
(1) Turn left onto the path and follow the lakeside
(2) At the end of the lake, continue straight on along the path running alongside the Couzon. Caution: a section of the path has partially collapsed over a distance of 4 to 5 metres. Continue along the path as it moves away from the river and turns westwards. Further on, at the first houses in Seyoux, turn left, then left again onto the small road.
(3) Take the road on the left, heading south-east, and, after about 300 metres, take the path on the left along the stream. At the next two junctions, turn right twice, then continue straight on until you reach the road and a cross.
(4) Continue along the path opposite. Further on, you’ll reach a road opposite the hamlet of La Croix du Sud; follow it to the left.
(5) At the bend, take the path on the left running alongside the fields (marked in white and yellow). Further on, follow the road to the left and reach the village of Sainte-Croix-en-Jarez.
(6) Continue straight on for 50m to visit the Chartreuse de Sainte-Croix-en-Jarez, then return to the junction and turn right after the bridge over the Guilleranche, turn left into the car park and, after the Ferme du Moulin, take the bridge on the right to cross the Couzon. Immediately afterwards, cross the Boisieux stream and walk alongside the tennis courts on the left.
(7) Cross the road and, opposite and to the left, head towards the Chapel of Jurieux. You’ll come to a road; follow it to the left to pass through the village of Thesay. Continue straight on to find the chapel on the left-hand side of the road.
(8) Continue along the road, passing through the hamlets of Jurieux, Chez Prat and La Grange.
(9) After this last hamlet, take the first path after a cross (the second path after the left-hand bend) and follow it, ignoring the paths branching off on either side, until you reach a forest track leading to La Rente. Follow this track to the right. After the house, at a place called La Rente, the track bends left, then right.
(10) At this right-hand bend, leave the track to the left (west) to follow the path that takes you back to the dam (S/E) through the Grand Bois. Be sure to follow the map carefully to find your way at each junction.
